Hi,

You should update your theme. The current version is 1.6 while you are using 1.3. Lot of improvements. You can download the update from Themeforest , but just please be aware that the theme update will overwrite all the current template and css files, so please make a backup first.

To change the way links open, you will need to edit header.php lines 128, 129 that look like

if($twitter = avia_get_option('twitter')) echo "
Twitter
";
if($facebook = avia_get_option('facebook')) echo "
Twitter
";

to look like

if($twitter = avia_get_option('twitter')) echo "
Twitter
";
if($facebook = avia_get_option('facebook')) echo "
Twitter
";

The

target='_blank'

inside an anchor tag <a href will open the link in a new window.

Thanks,

Great, I had to add it to minimal-skin.css and it worked! Thanks so much, Devin.

Is there a way to open all those social buttons in new window?

Hey herzfamily,

It looks like your icon hasn't been uploaded: https://www.glossny.com/images/skin-minimal/icons-social-google.png

Everything else looks fine. So once that icon has been uploaded into that spot via FTP then it should show up correctly.

Hi all,

I've read some threads about adding Google + next to rss, FB and twitter and followed some directions:

1. add
Google+
under -

">RSS
2. .social_bookmarks .google a{background: transparent url(../images/skin-minimal/icons-social-google.png) 0 0 no-repeat;} in the css.
3. make an icon & uploading it minimal skin file, but my icon is not showing up.

Hi anniet,

You'll need to open up header.php in the theme files. Look for this line that outputs the rss line:

<a href="<?php bloginfo('rss2_url'); ?>">RSS

right under that line make a new line and add:

Google+

Now, add the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

.social_bookmarks .google a{background: transparent url(../images/skin-minimal/icons-social-rss.png) 0 0  no-repeat;}

There isn't an icon already created for a google+ icon, so you'll need to add one in yourself. in the css above it points to the rss icon in the themes images folder (for the minimal skin, if you are using a different on it will be in that skin folder).

You can use this image file as a template for creating your own and then replace the image location in the css to point to your new image file. The file name is "icons-social-rss.png" above.

Regards,

Hi anibalrojas,

It depends on where you want to add it in. If you want it in the actual header.php, you'll need to create a new div to hold the content and then position it so that it doesn't effect the responsive effect and fit in well.

As far as I know Kriesi hasn't said anything about adding additional G+ options but I can't say for sure one way or another.

Hello,

   I would like to add a G+ (Google Plus) Icon / Link in the header, any recommendation for it?

   Any plans to upgrade the theme? If not there is no problem, I suppose is just a little hack in header.php but not sure.

   Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,

I spent today sorting out the social links on my posts today, and managed to replicate the same look and rollover effects that are used on the header social links.

Ive posted a screenshot of the end result:
http://s11.postimage.org/9uqwx0yab/social.png

I thought some of you would like to do the same, so i've drafted a quick guide.

Steps

1. Download WP Socializer: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-socializer/

2. Install and activate the plugin

3. Within plugin's admin screen, go to the manual customisation setting, then select social buttons

4. Select the buttons you want to use, choosing the 32px size

5. In settings at he bottom of the same window select:
Image hover: none
Use sprites: Yes

(At this point you may want to setup other bits, like choosing pages they appear on etc, until you are happy, and you just want to change the appearance).

6. Now we are going to create/upload our icons.
I've uploaded the icons for facebook, twitter, pinterest, google plus and email, including a fireworks template so others can be made. The file can be downloaded here:
http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=ed4858bf4b7a1d238a105f2f6f3bea45

The icons are sprites stacked vertically (32px x 64px)

7. Now we have our icons, we need to overwrite the default ones, so using an FTP client overwrite the default icons saved in here:
wp-content/plugins/wp-socializer/public/social-icons/32/

8. Now to edit a bit of PHP so we can add the sprite the rollover effect

Edit this file:
wp-content/plugins/wp-socializer/includes/wpsr-socialbuttons.php

Find the note that says:

// Check whether sprites is enabled

and replace the first paragraph with this

// Check whether sprites is enabled
			if($sprites == 1){
				$socialbts_list .=
					'<a href="' . $finalUrl . '" title="' . $finalTitle . '"' . $finalTarget . $finalNofollow .  $params . '>' .
					'' .
					"" . $finalLabel ;
			}else{

9. Now to update the css
Open, edit then reupload the following file:
wp-content/plugins/wp-socializer/public/css/wp-socializer-buttons-css.css

Rename this rule:

.wp-socializer img, .wp-socializer-single img{

to

.wp-socializer-single img{

Then add these new rules to the bottom of the css file

.wp-socializer img {
	float: none;
	border: 1px #ECECEC solid !important;
	margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px !important;
	padding: 0px !important;

	max-width: none\9; /* IE max-width fix on v2.1 */
}

.wp-socializer img:hover {
    background-position: top left !important;
}

10. The hard work is done, so test the appearance, and tweak as needed, i recommend using the firefox firebug plugin to iron out any css issues.

I can't provide support for this, but i hope it's useful for some of you

UPDATE:

Issue solved.
Just create 2 different widgets linking the G+ account. 2 links, but with different "REL" parameters.
Here is how it performed onto my website.

For example that post is now verified by Google: http://imba-shopping.com/30-spyder-taobao/

There is TWO G+ links on that page.
One (on left column) (its a vidget with this HTML:

-- a rel="author" href="https://plus.google.com/116164036679087348270/" --

And there is another FOOTER WIDGET on the end of the website which have "REL=ME" html markup:

-- a rel="me" href="https://plus.google.com/116164036679087348270/" --
==========================

check:

go here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets

type that: http://imba-shopping.com/30-spyder-taobao/

see this: author
linked author profile = http://imba-shopping.com/author/imbaroot/
Error: Author profile page redirects to another URL
redirect url = http://imba-shopping.com/
google profile = http://profiles.google.com/116164036679087348270/about
author name = Daniel Pouzankov
Verified: Authorship markup is verified for this page.
====================================

BANG! :-)

PS: Im sure that soon Google with put a great pressure against CopyPasters and other content theft.

Well, just a repost here, for those who will try to find the solution for Corona theme. But this is more like a universal problem for a lot users here.....
============================================

Google released their Google+ Autorship program and i`m sure such topics will now starts to appear ofter on that SupportBlog.

Issue in short terms:

We have a G+ account. And our website. To enter the "GOOGLE AUTORSHIP PROGRAMM" we must perform few simple steps: We must create a 2-way links.... everything is pretty easy here.

Aside from the fact, that Google (how? why?) "detects" that the site is running on a WordPress engine.
And, since the Google is an uber smart folk - the crawler tries to set a link "triangle"

1) G+ profile
2) our website content (post\page\article)
3) and the "Author page" on the wordpress.

And here comes the problems, because half of the Kriesi theme just demolished the "author Bio Page".
======================

Here you can check the real example (my website):

1) We go onto http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets

Its an easy tool to "check" the way of Autorship works\dont works.
There if we type:

a) (index page of website) http://imba-shopping.com/ - we will see: Verified: Authorship markup is verified for this page.

b) (page\section link) http://imba-shopping.com/shopping-columns-view/ - SAME HERE. we will see: Verified: Authorship markup is verified for this page.

(Those two pages actualy receive the G+ "verification" just because i`ve inserted the back-link onto my G+ account in one of the Widgets. And seems like the Google "see" that back link.

But here goes the trycky part: Verification of POSTS.....

If you go on http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets agai, and test this post link....: http://imba-shopping.com/31-tokyoflash-watches/

You wont see a magical "AUTORSHIP VERIVIED" line. Because somehow, when Google check nor a page, but "post" in wordpress, its automatically link it with a "author profile" inside our wordpress.....

but since there is no such page.... Google cant find that page = cant find a Snippet backLInk = cant verify the Autorship.
==================

I believe, thats the most straightforward way of solving this is just to modify onto "WHERE" the Author page will be linked.

I mean, where must be a way to modify the ahref link to where crawler will be sended when it will check "autor" page.
And of the most super way is to link it right back to the G+ account.

Example: We read our post, and at the end of it there is a line: Comments, tags, category, author XXXX"

If XXXX will lead to G+ = that will solve all the issues for everyone.
============

See, i`ve got the solution for you)) so, just give us the php code back Dude ))))

PS: I have that issue on Corona theme, buts thats isnt really matters.

Hey,
you can add additional icons to the bookmarks list. In footer.php Replace:

with:

Google Plus

and replace # with your account url. Then add following code to style1/2/3.css:

.social_bookmarks .googleplus a{background: transparent url(../images/skin1/googleplus_16.png) 0 0  no-repeat;}

and upload your google plus icon (16x16px) with the name "googleplus_16.png" to cleancut/images/skin1 (or depending on your skin use another skin folder). The icon pack can be found here: http://www.komodomedia.com/downloads/social_networking_iconpack.zip

As you already wrote before at http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/google you have no plans to integrate Google+ into the Themes.
But how about the Footer Area? I like to add a badge for my Googe+ Page (not the +1 Button).
Can you add a additional class for the Theme?

Alternatively for Workaround you may have a HTML Snippet to insert in the footer.php to update th class="social_bookmarks" for a direct Link?

Kind Regards
