Hi there,

I found a way by creating a 6x2 image grid and then importing my own mono logo for each one. I assume I can make each box link to either a URL or my own portfolio page. Not as funky as having it switch colours but for now it works a treat. There's a nice rollover effect and a thin wire frame surrounding everything too. A work-a-round I do believe!!!

Cheers as always
Andy

Hi there,

thanks for the idea but im not sure its going to look that great - well, not without a huge investment of time and me asking dumn questions on the forum. I might give it a go if I get a moment or eight!! but im starting to think that a simple mono graphic impersonating a grid will be better for now. Damn shame as its nearly always a must for people creating a portfolio of work. Perhaps there are plugins out there. Ill take a look

Thanks anyway

Hi,
1) I'm sorry but imo it's not easily possible to add the greyscale effect to the portfolio thumbnails (at least not if you're using Enfold). I also gave a honest answer to another user. http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/greyscale-overlay-and-shop-as-a-co-workers-page

Can you point me to the post which suggest that "this would be relatively easy"?

2) 5/6 is not supported for the portfolio grid at the moment. You can select a 2,3 or 4 columns layout. You can try a workaround though - create 2 columns and add a 3 columns portfolio element to each column - it will look like:

Hi there,

Im doing my portfolio and I often see sites with a client grid with logo's that are links to other pages. Ideally it would be good to get an image to react on rollover and go from a greyscale image to full color or a duotone (say orange)

Before I purchased the theme it was suggested that this would be relatively easy but im not sure where/how the best way to go about this.

Can you suggest how to go about this and ensure everything is kept responsive

I would like a 2 row grid of 5/6 colums of grey scale logo's that would turn orange on rollover and have links to other pages on the site

Cheers
Andy

Hello. I need my 3 column portfolio to match a grid system in the same way as flex columns on normal page (vertical spacing between columns) . Is it possible?
Look at this page build by Template Builder: http://www.landeco.cz/wordpress/
At the top there is a 3-column portfolio and bellow that is a 3-column page content. And it's not matching.
I already made a change to loop-portfolio.php and removed class "no_margin". But it helped only with the gap between fist and second column.
Thanks for a help.

Hallo,

.template-blog .three.units.blog-meta{
display: none !important;
}

#top .template-blog .offset-by-three {
padding-left: 0;
}

Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

For #1 and 2 for single posts:

#top.single-post .three.units.alpha.blog-meta {
margin-right: 10px;
margin-left: -10px;
}

You'll need to modify the individual post format for each post type in the includes folder. Look for:

echo '<span class="blog-author minor-meta">'.__('by ','avia_framework');
 the_author_posts_link();
 echo '</span>';

change it to:

echo '<span class="blog-author minor-meta">'.__('by ','avia_framework');
 the_author_posts_link();
 echo '</span>';
 ?>
 <span class='date-container minor-meta meta-color'><?php echo get_the_date(); ?></span>

Make sure to delete the following a bit further down so you don't get two dates:

<span class='date-container minor-meta meta-color'><?php echo get_the_date(); ?>

Then you'll need to add some new css to position it:

.template-blog .date-container {
font-size: 11px;
text-transform: uppercase;
position: relative;
top: auto;
}

That should do it, but it might take some additional adjustment here and there.

If you have any other questions, just make a new topic and we'll do our best to help :)

Actually, yes I do. :D While we're on this...

1. How do I increase the padding between the body text and the separator to the right of the flag and post information?
2. How can I move the flag and post info a little further to the left?
3. I'd like to put the date below the flag with the rest of the post information. Is that possible? If so, how?

I'm probably crazy for wanting to do this...

For the blog (both on the Blog page as well as the Individual Posts), I'm looking to change the grid a bit by widening the area for the post text to the full width of that table while using a sidebar. I have managed to widen the image to the size of the whole post as well as move the Blog Title towards the left margin. Piece of cake...

What I'm having trouble with is the gap between the post information (the place where author, category, etc sit). If I change the information that controls the width of the text's table, it puts itself below the post information. If I change the width of the post information, it moves the sidebar. I'm really not sure what the sidebar and the post information have to do with one another so it's kind of driving me bonkers.

You can see what I'm talking about here: http://thefreakygeeks.com/2013/02/fifty-shades-of-stupid/

I'd like the text to sit next to the post information as well as wrap down and fill the width of the post table. I hope that made sense... I'm not always savvy on the technical terms.

Hi,

On the Template Builder, insert the column element. Try to follow these options.

Select how many columns you want to display, then choose the column width and content: 4 Columns
Column Content: "Post from category"
Post from Category: Select the category
How do you want to display the post?: Preview image and post title.

If you insert two or more column element then apply the options above you will get a grid like design of blog posts much like the portfolio overview.

Regards,
Ismael

I would like to keep more or less the default frontpage template, except change the bottom element to be blog posts. The template builder, however, inserts a blog element with a vertical scroll of blog posts, and I would like to display blog posts like the portfolio feature or the woocommerce plugin does, with an image-based grid format (horizontally scrollable would be great too!).

How can I do this? I am relatively novice when it comes to WP development, and the backend of this theme is so "automated" that I don't know how to change much (I am accustomed to simply tweaking the stylesheet as needed). I am willing to put some serious time into figuring this out and/or money to pay for plugins if necessary, just need some help to point me in the right direction!

Thank you!

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the useful hint. This pointed me in the right direction.

I finally solved is this way:

".portfolio-sort-container {
width: 93%;
margin-left: 3.5%;
}

#top .portfolio-wrap {
clear: both;
width: 100%;
position: relative;
margin-top: 0px;
background: rgb(245, 245, 245);
border-bottom-width:.5em;
border-bottom-style:solid;
border-color:#4f4f4f;
padding-bottom:2.5em;
}

#top .one_third .slideshow, #top .one_fourth .slideshow li img {
width: 95%;
padding:2.5%;
}"

Best regards,

Hi,

Try this either in custom.css or in Quick CSS located in Eunoia > Theme Options > Style ... on the bottom of the page

#top .slideshow li img {
width: 95%;
}
#top .flex_column .portfolio-title {
display: none;
}

Without actually seeing what you have its difficult guessing. Please provide a URL so this becomes less abstract and so we can get you up and running as quickly as possible.

Thanks

Hi there,

I'm stuck here:

this is the status quo:

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g86/d-baser/statusquo.png

and thats what i try to get:

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g86/d-baser/wishful_thinking.jpg

I would like to have the portfolio thumbs on a white Background with a fixed spacing between thumbs.
Should work in responsive mode and also with 3 or two columns.

thanks in advance for any hint!

Hi,

In this theme unfortunately the portfolio item page doesn't have a right sidebar. Its possible to add it, if the right vertical column which currently lists the portfolio item properties is moved someplace else, but since the theme is responsive, it will have to be changed in all 4 media queries for mobiles , tablets , etc.. I just tried using a plugin to force a sidebar into the area but it didn't work as expected. If its integral to your business, I would suggest hiring a freelance developer. However I i will take another look to see if some corners can get cut to get the sidebar installed.

Thanks,
Nick
