Hi,

To change the background color you can add this on your custom.css

.stretch_full.container_wrap.slideshow_color.light_bg_color.title_container {
background: red;
}

To remove the title, add this

h2.post-title a {
display: none;
}

Regards,

Hi Devin,

The template builder fixes the <H1> problem, but I can't get the colors right. I've tried the page split, but the background stays white. How can I fix that?

Second problem: the content area also shows the blog title, so the title is shown twice.

Thanks for your help!

Tom

Hi tvandervalk,

Do you mean like this page: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/choices/2012/01/14/this-is-a-nice-post/ ?

You can change the title that gets displayed by default in the single.php file in your theme files. Its on line 19.

However I don't think you can modify it to take the actual post title since it comes before the actual loop which pulls the post.

What you can do is use a different page layout to remove the Blog title and breadcrumb area (such as using a full width slideshow image or creating a dynamic template).

An example template made with the template builder would be:

Heading (+Breadcrumb)
Horizontal Ruler
Post/Page Content

You could also separate the heading with a page split to more completely mimic the regular layout where the page title and breadcrumb has a different background.

Regards,

Devin

Hey,
use following code in css/custom.css to change the colors:

#header .submenu {
    background: #000000;
    border-bottom: 7px solid #EEEEEE;
    color: #AAAAAA;
}

The first line dictates the black background, the second line changes the grey border color and the third line the text color. All three values are the default values at the moment.

No you need to adjust both things individually (they don't affect each other). I.e. if you set the padding to 100px (instead of 125px) you need remove 25px from the top dark area of the background image too - otherwise the menu won't display right.

So is the 125px the default size of the header? If I shrink the size of the header, do shrink the size of the background image to be exactly the same height as the new size of the header?

Will the size of the header not shrink until I decrease the size of the background image? I added the above code to style.css (I haven't shrunk the background image yet) but nothing has happened.

Hey,
the header color is controlled by the body background image. You can find the image here: images/skin1/bg.png
If you'd like to change the header color you can use Photoshop or Gimp to modify the image.

2) You can adjust the header size with following code (add it to style.css):

.nav_wrapper {
    padding-top: 125px;
}

Decrease/Increase the value to change the header height. You'll need to adjust the background image size of images/skin1/bg.png too.

I'm sure this has been covered before but the support searches I've done and subsequent responses on this topic are unclear to me. I have three questions about the header in the newscast theme:

2. How do I change the color of the header?

Hey,
I'd like to change the black header and footer to blue.
How would I do this?

Thanks!
