Hi Myrror2,

I'm not sure what you mean. There isn't any easier way to edit the slideshow other than following the steps in the video and doing the same on your own site.

You can read through the documentation file that came with the theme or try watching the video and following along exactly at the same time.

Regards,

I am finding it very hard to edit the slider and put my own pictures even after following the same steps you mentioned above. What is the problem and how can this be fixed?

Thank you in anticipation.

Hey albertorey,

Can you create a temporary admin account for me so that I can login and take a look at whats going on. Since you aren't that familiar with things yet, I think it will be quicker if I just get a look firsthand and then try and help out from there.

You can send the information to my email at DevinVinson (at) gmail.com. Make sure to include a link to this topic so that my spam filter doesn't grab it :)

I just purchased this WP Theme, and I have been reading over all the documentation and videos and I failed to find out how exactly do you modify the images on the slideshow on the homepage. I added new posts with featured media, added portfolio with featured media, all trying to see if I managed to have some sort of effect on homepage. I also imported dummy data hoping to find examples, which I did, I did the same thing (featured media), and nothing happens. I am trying to do things step by step, I would gladly appreciate some help. Its been a pain for the last couple of hours trying to get the functionality of this theme.

I really am trying to use this template, homepage slideshow (show my latest projects) with link to a page where I mention more details about this project. Then below having links to other projects... basically as a portfolio.

Hi Syl,

You can use the documentation packaged inside the zip file you have downloaded in themeforest. Or you can check this link: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/propulsion/template-files/video-tutorials/ and find the video tutorial with this title:
Abundance Theme Demo 3:
Setting up a page, changing the layout and adding a slideshow with images and video

The theme might be different from the one you are using but I think they are using the same slider. Hope this helps. :)

Hello, where can I learn more about customizing the homepage slider? I was having a really hard time getting the images to look "right" (right size & quality) until I came across this post and replicated the demo slider based on you instructions.

Is there another resource or manual available for learning how to use the slider? For example, I'd like to have the slider be smaller, if possible.

Thank you,

Hi,

Edit your homepage, look for Slideshow Options. Find "Which Slideshow do you want to use?" then choose "Fade Slider". Make it a full size slider by selecting "Full Width Slider" on "Slideshow Layout on Single Pages" option. Insert 3 images, suggested image size is 990x400px.

Hi Devin,
Aw, shoot...one of the images I used came in at 850 x 386 and worked pretty well, so I was hoping that setting the others at no larger than 940 would work.

Guess the image resizing doesn't work 100% of the time...off to redo my graphics. Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi DivaStyleCoach,

As far as I know the slideshow doesn't actually support varying heights which may account for some of the images getting clipped oddly. I believe you'll need to use images at exactly 940px wide by 420px high if you don't want them to get cropped or adjusted by the re-sizing script.

Regards,

Hi,
Tried that - made all the images I'm using 940 wide, with varying heights (depending on the image). I saved the images in the site Media page and refreshed the screen - still no joy.

Any other ideas?

Good evening,
Working on a website, using the Display theme. When I upload images for the homepage slider, sometimes the images resize successfully, other times they do not. While doing live edits to the site, I change the image size, save the image and then recopy the URL from the Media page to the Frontpage Slider. This does not always work. It's not consistent as to when it works and when it doesn't. I also tried changing the image size and refreshing the page, and that does not always work either.

Running WordPress 3.4.1; Website address is http://www.thedivastylecoach.com

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hey,
you need to insert the image only - wp inserts image links by default (if you click on "insert into post"). The best way to fix it is to switch to html view and to delete the a href element around the image.

Hi James,

I am having the issue in firefox for pc and internet explorer. I just disabled all plugins but unfortunately that didn't work. I know the gallery seems to work fine, but if you see the second image appear in the gallery, wait a few moments and you will see that the image will drop down a little bit, you can see this best when you watch the text in the image. When this happens you can also see a bit of the first image in the upper left corner of the gallery.

Hope you have any ideas what may cause this.

Hi,

I have the featured image slider on my homepage but am having an issue with it. I created a page and inserted 2 images in it just as explained in the tutorial. The first image is displaying properly, but when i added the second image a problem occurred.
The images are showing as follows: image 1 correctly, image 2 correctly then image 2 again but resized and misplaced.

Can you help me with this? homepage url is http://www.promotioninternetmarketingbureau.nl
