Hi Tim,

We'll need to take a look at the site live to inspect it and see whats going on. You may want to also try loading the font up on the Google fonts site in IE9 to see if its just the way google renders that font.

Edit: Realize I can see the url in your screenshot and took a look. The menu is using HelveticaNeue, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial for the font-family in the menu and my guess is that your font file for that font on your local machine isn't working with IE. Try re-installing the font file on your computer as well as checking the site on another computer (it looks the same on Chrome vs IE9 on my machine for example).

Additionally, you can just change the font-family for the menu directly to Arial if you wanted to.

Regards,

Well we all hate building websites for outdated browsers like IE9, but unfortunately it has to be done. I just found out that my company website isn't displaying correctly in IE 9 because of the Google fonts. You can see what I'm referring to here: http://mecsoft.com/Ie9_fonts.jpg

Any suggestions on how to fix it? Google Analytics tells me that we have about 15% of our traffic using IE9. so definitely sufficient enough to fix this issue asap.

Thank you,
Tim

It could be a setting within IE that is changing the way you interact with elements. Similar to how it will change phone numbers into clickable skype icons if the option is selected.

Thanks for your reply.
The IE9 that I'm using is from the office. It was working fine but after I upgraded I have the option to download my MP3 instead of listening to, weird. Hope no one else will have the same issue. I don't experience this issue at home.

Hi,

I'm having an issue with IE9 since I upgraded to the latest version. The templates don't display all the details properly (ie: I have the option to select the number of columns but nothing else)

My main page is not working properly ( ie: Sermons 3 columns, instead of showing the music bar, the option to download file appears)

I have no issues with google chrome

IE Version: 9.0.8112.16421

Hi M,

If the site is the same as your profile link, there are a couple of things that could be causing the issue.

First, I would suggest you download the most recent version of the theme from your downloads on Themeforest and update the theme files. You can upload and install the update in the same way you first installed the theme. If you made any changes to the theme files themselves, back those up locally so you can re-apply them.

Next, try cleaning up how you have the three columns. There are some empty paragraph tags that are also set to be bold and the combination is probably causing the issues with IE9. Just take a look at the content in the visual editor from the Text tab and look for empty lines of html.

Regards,

Hi - all browsers except for IE9 are rendering 3 the flex columns correctly. I've tried just about everything I can think of. Even played around with the width of the columns in the code but it didnt make the fix. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi plexynote,

It looks like you are using outdated versions of both the theme and wordpress. Updating them should fix the issue.

To update the theme files, you just need to re-download the theme from Themeforest under your Downloads. Then install it the same way you first installed it.

Make sure to back up and changes you've made to the theme files so that you can re-apply them afterwards.

For some reason your site has ie7 standards mode as default which is causing the grid to not work correctly. So removing:

Hiya guys,

Just started testing my new site across all of the browsers and noticed IE 9 messing up the alignment of any four columns.

It appears on the 4th footer widget area (gets pushed under 1st)

and also on any content using the 4 columns set to 25% 25% 25% 25% in template builder.

It is most apparent on this page ... http://flyingstartonline.co.uk/ourservices/

Hi Maria,

For the layout issue with the icons, i'm guessing the issue is in the way the content is created. It looks like there is a stray h3 tag or line but you should be able to easily clean that up by opening the html tab of the visual editor when viewing that page.

Just make sure that the only html in between each column is only the image and there is nothing extra.

For the images, try removing the links on those images. You can also try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

html.msie8 img, html.msie8 a img {
    max-width: none;
}

For the font issue, maybe changing up the syntax will help. Try:

#top .widgettitle {
	font-family: 'Oswald';
    font-size: 15px;
    font-style: normal;
    font-variant: normal;
}

Regards,

Devin

Hi
I have this web: ww.atecna.com/wordpress with choices template. I was designing and programming with a Mac and previewing in Safari an Firefox. The template looks ok. But when I test this in IE8 I see that the icons below the slide on the home page are not in position and I see that the fonts didn't charge. Also I can't see the images of the home page (the blog area), they are cutted. When I test the page in IE9, the icons are not ok but the fonts look ok and the images. In Firefox, Crome and Safari looks all ok in all versions
I used the template builder to desing the home page, the icons are set with the 4 columns shortcode.
I don't want to change this template because I have spended a lot of time (time is money) with it. I need an urgent solution , I'm desperated. Plis help me with this.
Thanks a lot
Maria

That did not seem to help. I took down the theme and reinstalled and it seems to be working fine. Thank you for your assistance and for a great theme.

I found some serious html errors with the w3cvalidator: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fblueskiescenterforwomen.com%2Fwp%2Fpatient-information%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0 - they're caused by invalid html code (missing html tags, missing < or > signs, etc.). Please fix these errors and the widget will be displayed properly on IE browsers too.

Choices Latest Portfolio widget works fine in Firefox but only displays one (the first) Portfolio item in IE 9. I am using it in the footer in the third and fourth columns with three different Portfolios. The fourth column header should be Doctors and only Docto shows up. Here is a link to the site: http://blueskiescenterforwomen.com/wp/patient-information/

I have turned off all plugins with no change. I have only a Google Map plug in working now and that does not seem to make a difference.
