Hi,

Your best bet is to use a plugin that Ismael recommended. (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-retina-2x/) Niche functionality such as this is best left to plugins in my opinion to allow the operator (you) a better selection and faster updates than building this into the theme and limiting your choice.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi,

I'm not sure if there is a good plugin out there that you can use because I haven't tried it myself. Let me tag the rest of the support team. I try to google it and WP Retina 2x seems to be the first choice.

Regards,

Hi guys,

I've just installed the Sentence them and I love it - huge upgrade from my previous theme.

However, I'm really keen to support retina screens as my photographs and logo don't look so hot on them.

I was wondering whether support for this will be built into the theme, as it is with some themes, in which case I will wait.

If not, could Kriesi recommend a retina display plugin for use with the Sentence them? I don't want to mess up his beautiful work or my website! :)

Any help from the community appreciated too ... thanks!

Hi Devin,
Aw, shoot...one of the images I used came in at 850 x 386 and worked pretty well, so I was hoping that setting the others at no larger than 940 would work.

Guess the image resizing doesn't work 100% of the time...off to redo my graphics. Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi DivaStyleCoach,

As far as I know the slideshow doesn't actually support varying heights which may account for some of the images getting clipped oddly. I believe you'll need to use images at exactly 940px wide by 420px high if you don't want them to get cropped or adjusted by the re-sizing script.

Regards,

Hi,
Tried that - made all the images I'm using 940 wide, with varying heights (depending on the image). I saved the images in the site Media page and refreshed the screen - still no joy.

Any other ideas?

Hello,

Suggested image size for the cub3r slider is 940x420px, try to contain the images within that dimension.

Regards,

Good evening,
Working on a website, using the Display theme. When I upload images for the homepage slider, sometimes the images resize successfully, other times they do not. While doing live edits to the site, I change the image size, save the image and then recopy the URL from the Media page to the Frontpage Slider. This does not always work. It's not consistent as to when it works and when it doesn't. I also tried changing the image size and refreshing the page, and that does not always work either.

Running WordPress 3.4.1; Website address is http://www.thedivastylecoach.com

Thanks in advance for the help!

Love this theme - it is gorgeous. The only issue is that the featured images are 180px x 180px and looks childish for my users. I was able to perfect the look - 120x120 and it is stunning. This can be done by making changes in the css files.

One problem - when uploading images using the image uploader, no matter what I do the thumbnail is set to resize at 180x180 so any graphic, even smaller, will be made larger or smaller to fit. How can I change the resizer so that the image uploading for the featured image is 120x120? This should be simple - just don't know where to make the edit. I'm not sure if its the thumbnail generator or something that appears to be putting in a 180px height and width despite the css. Looks like it might be what gets filled in the $preview_image variable.

Thank you for such a great template!
