No, unfortunately this is not easily possible. Like Devin pointed out above the plugin doesn't "reserve" items which are already in the cart. Thus everyone can add it to the cart as long as it's not part of an order. If someone buys the last item (and the checkout process is finished) the stock managment will reduce the stock items to 0 and wc will mark the item as "sold out".

After the item is in the cart, it happens on all the catalog pages.

Is there a way to check if the item is already in the cart before adding it again?

Hey mmessick,

Do you have an example we can take a look at live?

I'll tag the topic for Kriesi but it sounds like there might need to be a bit of a template fix for the issue in your Figure 2. The main issue however is, I believe, a limitation of how the plugin registers out of stock vs ajax updating of the cart. So when the item is added to the cart it takes an actual page refresh for the rest of the pages content to update to what is in the database for that product.

Regards,

If back-orders are turned off and a customer adds the last item in stock for that product in the cart, the product still appears to be "in stock". If the page is refreshed and the product is added to cart again (Figure 1), it automatically opens to the product details page with this message at the top (Figure 2), and all the divs are in disorder.

I searched the files and found following occurences of "in stock":

woocommerce\admin\post-types\product.php , woocommerce\classes\class-wc-cart.php and woocommerce\classes\class-wc-product.php - I think woocommerce\classes\class-wc-product.php is still valid. Maybe it's a server cache problem. It's quite strange that (even after the update) the code is still the same and in comment.

Hello all,

I had this question before and it was solved but when I updated woocommerce the problem was back and I don't get it the way it was. I had a question about the stock info. First you could see how many products there were in stock. I wanted only the words "in stock".

In the class-wc-product.php I had to comment this line:
$availability = sprintf( __('%s in stock', 'woocommerce'), $this->stock );

But I updated woocommerce and I have again a number after the in stock. (In stock – 10 available) The line is still in comment so how come and how to fix this?

Thanks a lot,
Martijn

Hey!

You need to modify woocommerce\classes\class-wc-product.php - delete/comment out following line:

$availability = sprintf( __('%s in stock', 'woocommerce'), $this->stock );

Yeah I found those also. I think it is not possible then. And the stock issue? Is that possible. To let the customer see in stock or not in stock instead of how many products there still left?

Thanksss

Hi jorisvh,

Personally, I only know these shortcodes:

[recent_products per_page="12" columns="4"] – Lists recent products – useful on the homepage. The per page limits the amount of recent products shown, and the columns attribute controls how many columns wide the products should be before wrapping.

[featured_products per_page="12" columns="4"] – Works exactly the same as recent products but displays products which have been set as "featured".

[product id="99"] – Show a single product by ID

[product sku="FOO"] – Show a single product by SKU

[products ids="1, 2, 3, 4, 5"] – Show multiple products by ID

[products skus="foo, bar, baz" orderby="date" order="desc"] – Show multiple products by SKU

I don't think though they offer what you're looking for so you may want to visit Woocommerce's shortcode page.

http://www.woothemes.com/woocommerce-docs/

Hope that helps!

Regards,

Hello,

In the single product page I have the amount of products. For example 10 in stock. But is it possible to leave the number and to see only if there are products in stock or not? So just: In stock or Not in stock.

And another question. Is it possible to put the stock info, the text fielt where you can choose your amount of products, the add to cart button and the price, in the product description box?

EDIT:
I found the [add_to_cart id="" sku=""] shortcode. Is there a shortcode for the in stock text and the field where you can choose your amount of products?

Thanks
