Hi Asier,

Make sure you are changing the option for the correct portfolio display. If the front page is using a template builder template, it has to be changed on that template and not int he Portfolio theme options.

Regards,

Hi there

I wonder if you can help.

I want to show 24 items on my portfolio. So when I selected 24 on the Angular Theme options page, Portfolio Post number section, that's what I expected to see on the main portfolio page. However I can only see 20 items and when I create a new item, the one on the bottom right hand corner of the page, simply disappears.

Can you help please?

You can view what I mean here, http://bit.ly/PCTtVY

Thanks for your help in advance.

Ok, I may not have resolved the primary issue, . . . but by finessing the individual portfolio posts, I ended up with a much better outcome.

*By disabling the "slideshow" it fixed the image load issue, (and) I also changed the portfolio layout to display the text next to smaller images instead of beneath. Happier than my original layout.

Conclusion, . . . this theme is so nice and flexible, it was a small hurdle in my opinion, . . . that ultimately ended in a better decision.

THANK YOU Devin and Nick. You helped get me here.

Ok, update.

I deleted ALL of my custom css code and the portfolio images were (still) loading weird.

I also tried to use "fade slider" instead of the "moving slider," with no luck.

I WILL figure this out! . . . somehow. :-)

Hmmm, ok. Thanks Nick.

I will try some things out and update my results. I really made it a point to keep my customizations clean as possible. But I could have messed something up. Maybe I will copy all my customizations and delete them, then adding one at a time like Devin mentioned. Just haven't had the time, but i will do this and keep this thread going with the result. Forgive me for my late responses. I'm not getting the RSS feed.

Hi,

I imported your image into my local setup and all worked fine without the effect you are experiencing

Please look here http://i.imgur.com/mo4BGLy.png

That the comparison of the code block between mine and your page. You can try switching to a fade slider. Because I am not sure if the other differences are because of you using a different slider or some customization you've made.

Hi headbentdesign,

You could try removing all of the css changes you've made then adding them back in one by one. It looks like it has something to do with the container for loading in the slideshow but I'm just not able to identify what is actually causing the image to not be hidden during the load.

I'll tag Peter as he may have a better idea just from taking a look what might be the cause.

Ok, back again. Wanted to update my recent experience with updating my theme so others might get something out of it.

First, after updating to 1.3 I did not lose any of the styling I added in the custom styling panel. What I did have to add back to the header.php file was my Google and Adobe Typekit fonts. But everything else remained. I also created a new folder on my server named eunoia 2 and placed the latest eunoia version 1.3 file inside of it. This way I didn't have to delete my previously installed theme (just in case I needed to get any info from it). I DID use Backupbuddy to back everything up before I did ANYTHING. Also, when I uploaded the eunoia .zip to the new eunoia 2 folder, I created another folder and named it eunoia_1.3 and palced the .zip inside—then extracted the contents from the .zip. That's it. The new updated theme was now showing in my WP theme panel.

TOTALLY unconventional, but worked for me. I am still going to learn how to create child themes as Nick suggested. Just good practice. This was an easier option and a quick fix, but again, probably unconventional.

To conclude, updating the theme did not solve my portfolio image-loading issues. Still choppy, so I will optimize all my images as Nick suggested and see if this works. I will update shortly.

Hmm, this is odd. I used this app to optimize my images. http://imageoptim.com/

Not sure why it didn't take. Maybe because I optimized numerous images at once. I will try that again, and try another app that you suggested.

Another question, I kept all of my custom css in the custom section. I've never lost any of my styling when conforming to this. Is creating a (child theme) suggested even beyond this method? I was under the impression that the sole purpose for adding custom styling to the designated custom area was so that edits would not be lost when updating the theme.

Thanks for your help Nick. Just trying to get this right. I will learn child themes regardless, but just curious about the custom.css area and it's purpose.

Hi,

Your images need to be optimized , Please use this free service http://tinypng.org/ to make each of your .png images 60%+ smaller. I just took this image http://mynewsite.headbentdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Sybreed_new.png which is 333.5k down to 127.4k without any loss in quality.

Also please update your theme, you are using an older version. You will need to login to themeforest.com with the account you've purchased the theme with and download the update. Please be aware that the update will overwrite all your theme files including custom css. Please make sure to use a backup. In the future, you need to use a child theme so that the original files are not edited, this way you will be able to update easier.

Thanks,

Kind of difficult to explain, but when I either navigate to the portfolio page or the individual portfolio items they load half the image, then there is a brief pause, then the second half loads. It's bothering me and I really would like to fix this if possible before I launch.

I don't remember the portfolio doing this previously so it could be something I did in the styling, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Hi,

Please update your theme to the latest version. That should take care of the Android issue. Just log into themeforest.com using the same account you purchased the theme and download the latest version. Please be aware that the update will replace all theme files including your custom.css and overwrite all modifications you've made directly to template files. Please make a backup of your current theme prior to updating.

Hi Wayne,

1) You can use a plugin like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ and then make sure the images don't have the crop set to yes for the images.

2) Unfortunately I've never found a solution for that. Because of the responsive design and the way the layout with the slideshow is done if you limit the image to not scale it then just leaves a big blank space where the layout expects the image to be.

The only thing I've found is to put your very large portrait images on a white canvas of the height you want them to be. This way it limits the overall height of the container. Additionally, you could FTP to your image files and replace that image size with your own image that is actually smaller than what was generated. As long as it has the same file name, the theme will grab and use it even if the *actual* image size is smaller. So this image:

http://www.waynewrightphotography.net/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/MG_1601-Edit1-619x930.jpg

would be replaced by one with an identical file name in the same location but the actual image would be the portrait on a white/block or transparent canvas with a width of 930px. Which means it would not get scaled vertically to fill the width.

3) The image is pulled from the Featured gallery for those elements. You need to add at least one image to it so that it can be used by the theme.

4) Which tablet and OS version is it? There shouldn't be any instance where they aren't selectable for android.

Regards,

Please forgive me if this has been answered before, I have looked through and cant seem to find an answer...
My issues..

1) When viewing my portfolio http://www.waynewrightphotography.net/wp/portfolio-2/ is there a way of having the images not cropped as thumbnails?
2) When viewing a portrait orientated image http://www.waynewrightphotography.net/wp/portfolio-landscape/cervante-dune/ it shows too large, is there a way of limiting this orientation to be viewed on 1 page?
3) In the sidebar widget http://www.waynewrightphotography.net/wp/ images do not show in popular/recent???
4) viewing the portfolio within my android tablet http://www.waynewrightphotography.net/wp/portfolio-2/ images are not clickable but are on my PC?

I am very new to Wordpress and am trying to get my head around it, I love this theme and hope I can get these small things sorted.
I am also impressed reading through the support pages of the amount of support.

If creating a user for someone to have a look will help please let me know.

Hi,
Unfortunately it's currently not possible to filter items across multiple pages - thus if you want to filter all items you need to display all items on one page and you can't use the pagination feature. Afaik Kriesi won't add this feature to Angular (see: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/portfolio-work-filter-question )

Hi All,
there are about 100 items in my portfolio.
I only show 12 or 16 portfolio Items on my webpage - due to layout-reasons.

If I start now filtering the portfolio - the filter applies only for the 12 oder 16 shown items.

What I want to know:
How can I make that the filter applies for all 100 portfolio items - as well for the items that are not shown.

Pagination doesn't help - the filters only take effect on the items shown on one page.

You can add some padding to these links if you like. Add following code to the bottom of style.css:

#js_sort_items a {
    margin-right: 15px;
    padding: 2px 3px;
}

and adjust the margin-right and/or padding value to your requirements.

Hi lpojergren,

So we understand, were the portfolio items displaying prior to you importing the dummy data? Are you adding the items under "Portfolio Items"? Can you post a link to your website so we can look firsthand?

Regards,

Hi! I've searched the forum and can't find anyone with the same problem. My portfolio items are not displaying.
I installed the dummy data and after that it stopped working. I have made "posts" and made categories for them and assigned them. I have the portfolio page set to portfolio and chosen all the categories in the flashlight portfolio options.
I've tried just about everything. I've also reset it a couple of times and reinstalled.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?

I've used this theme for four months of so, and suddenly the portfolio items redirect to a "404" page. I haven't installed anything new or updated any plugin or theme, it simply stopped functioning.

An example of this can be found at http://arrowheadchurch.com/social/media/ by clicking on any of the media.

Thank you
