Hi John,

Not sure what you mean by not set up that way. You could manually add a script into the header.php file of the site or enque the script using the wordpress function and add it to your functions.php (*this is the best way to do this): http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_enqueue_script

Hi - I'm using Replete on a project for a client who has a "video walkout" that needs a script put under the <body> tag in index.php, but your theme isn't setup that way. Where would I put this code?

Please let me know if you need more info.

The sizes are set in the functions.php, so the image could still be getting cropped based on those settings (which you can change with that plugin.

Hope that helps and when you get started adding images in we can help with a live example if it comes to that.

Hi Devin,
yup. that should be no problem, anyway, when we imagine i want to upload 960 x 960 image the high is still cut anyway. I will look into that class and will let you know once i am lost again.
Thanks anyway.

Hi mAqq,

The resizing function is actually done server side by the options in the functions.php file. The image size is then adjusted with css to fully fill out the container its inside.

So if you are uploading images that are 400x600 (just as an example), the big slideshow area will still stretch those images to fit the 960px width of that slideshow.

You would want to use another option for showing those kinds of images if you know they will be uploaded from a device that will cause them to not really fit in that presentation.

If you want to adjust the automatically generated thumbnails, you can do it easily with: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/

hello guys,
i have one more question. The current used resizing of the images for the slide show in 960 way does not fit my needs. I was looking for something that would look like the script that is calculating the proportions, anyway could not find any. except for the twitter iframe.
the basic issue is that i would like to upload the images from my camera without big size manipulation directly to the web and as most of the images will be 4:3 and too many things will be cut with current settings.
Can you please give me a hint where to set up the processing?
Thanks in advance

I created a #header-bg and a #header-fg divs, both encapsulating #header, I am planning to use them as layers to change the background image in my Angular theme header smoothly using jQuery. I have created a code snippet that changes background-images inside a window.setInterval function, which is inside a document.ready function. Code somehow doesn't work. Is there specific place to put extra jQuery code?

Hi,

I just ordered some air from the first link. The form validated once I entered the 3 fields you wanted to validate. See if Nick-Support shows up anywhere. I used a win 7 with Google Chrome then with latest Firefox and then with IE9. Even recorded it so you can see for yourself.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8hqGBMSfHtKQTNlNXBvS29PN00/edit

Small world. A long time ago I lived in Union Township, before it transformed.

I would clear out the cache, or re-install your browser since one of the two is causing problems

Thanks,

I needed to create a new form for my website that is using the Propulsion theme, but I cannot get the form to validate the form fields.

Through much testing, I concluded that there is nothing wrong with my code, or the server settings, rather, it is a script that is running as a part of this theme that is interfering with the validation script.

Here is a link to the form as part of the theme (does NOT validate): http://www.labscape.com/request-a-quote/

Here is a link to the form as part of a plain HTML page (does validate): http://labscape.com/labscape.html

Any idea what script could be running interference?

This is a great and layered theme - having a great time working with it.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me answer this question:
How do I resize the slideshow so that it will continue to function properly and be responsive?

I'd like the area the slideshow appears in to be only 960 pixels wide by 400 pixels tall. When I chose the "Big Image/Video" option in the slideshow's Image Size Options area, the slideshow makes the image 1140 by 475 by default.

I'm guessing this would be a change to some JS, but I'm not sure and would love some advice.

Thanks again for any help!

No thats right - you don't understand.

It's an essential piece of code for my client's business - and one that works in his existing theme, but not yours. But don't worry - we'll resolve the issue without you. However, I doubt that we'll be back after this theme.

I've customised several themes for several clients, but I don't think I've ever encountered support quite as poor as this from a developer that claims to be at the forefront. The themes are beautiful indeed - but your customer care is lacking, to say the least.

Thanks for - well, not very much really.

Hi Lance1,

I'm not quite sure I understand. Is there a conflict with code you have added with a plugin or customization? If so, you should be able to just de-active/remove it and the theme should then work without issue.

I'm becoming a little impatient now. After spending good money on this theme, it is clearly not working for me and it appears to be OK to be left to wait a day or so while my client is getting anxious.

I have deactivated all plugins, reinstalled the theme and STILL Newscast doesn't display images properly - either in the slider OR in post lists.

I am becoming hypnotised by the bloody 'image loading' GIF.

It's time to insist on some help. Paying customers surely deserve more attentive support than this.

Thank you.

Hi Devin

Have done as you suggested, but also 're-based' the project by updating all out-of-date plugins and updating to WP 3.4, to eliminate any possible update-related issues.

I have disabled all plugins and the site is still misbehaving in much the same way. :(

Help please!

TIA

Hi Lance1,

I'm getting a lot of errors with javascript when I view the site. It looks like some scripts aren't getting loaded in or there is some kind of js conflict. Can you try disabling all your currently active plugins to see if one of them is causing a conflict.

As for a child theme, there shouldn't be any issues with it.

For the logo tagline, open up header.php and look for:

<h2 class="logo ie6fix <?php echo $logoclass; ?>"><a href="<?php echo get_settings('home'); ?>/"><?php echo $logo; ?></a></h2>

You can hardcode in the logo and tagline using plain html and style the additional tagline by replacing the php calls for to the logo and keeping the same structure. So something like:

<h2 class="logo ie6fix "><a href="http://be-lucid.com/banskoblog/"><img class="ie6fix" src="http://be-lucid.com/banskoblog/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/BanskoBlog_logo.jpg" alt="http://be-lucid.com/banskoblog" /></a></h2>
<div class="tagline"><h3>this is our tagline</h3></div>

Regards,

Devin

In helper-slideshow.php line 278:

//get the filtered (eg greyscale) copy
if($image_string && isset($avia_config['imgSize'][$this->img_size]['copy']) && function_exists('imagefilter') && $this->allow_overlay == true)
{
$image_string = $image_string.avia_get_filtered_image_copy($image_string, $avia_config['imgSize'][$this->img_size]['copy']);
}

 //if we didnt get a valid image from the above function set it directly
if(!$image_string) $image_string = $slide['slideshow_image'];

Comment that code, it will disable grey thumb in html.
