Hello!

I've been trying to enlarge the upload size, it's now only 8MB. I'v tried this through adapting the HTaccess files, but it didn't work out. I also tried to upload files through FTP. Then I do see my files in the folder, but I can't find them in Media in Wordpress. So I do know that I have to change it in the settings of WP and in the file /cgi-bin/php.ini, but I can't find it / can't make it work. Can you please help? Thanks in advance!

sorry, haven't known anymore, that I've asked this one year ago.

The solution for a general excerpt lenght is here:
http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/text-excerpt-in-widget-newscast-sidebar-news-works-not-right

But:

There's still the question, why my more-tag in the post doesn't work for the sidebar-news-widget.
In some cases I would like to cut the excerpt length individually.

What can I do, so that the more-tag in the post takes really effect in the sidebar-news-widget?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

the "sidebar news" widget ignores my <!--more--> tag in the post for limiting the excerpt of the post text shown in the sidebar.

What can I do, that it takes effect?

And besides: how can I limit the excerpts to a certain number of characters in this widget?

In the following screenshot, I have set the "more"-tag of this post after:

startet am 1. November für einen Monat. <!--more-->

but the widget stops once sentence later:

http://i50.tinypic.com/2818t4k.jpg

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm COMPLETELY new to this, so please keep your response simple!

I recently purchased and installed Flashlight for my WP, and I was wondering if there's any way to increase the 2MB upload limit on photos. Just about all of my photos are over 2MB, and it is a huge pain to lower the quality for each and every one of them.

I installed my WP site through my host, iPage. From there I have access to a FileManager where I can edit all of the files associated with my WP. I came across this post: http://www.wpmods.com/quick-tip-increase-maximum-upload-size-in-wordpress/ and it seemed so simple! I tried creating a PHP.ini file in my wp-admin and adding the code, but it didn't work.

Do you have any suggestions? Is there any kind of code I can paste into one of the files that takes away this upload restriction?

Thanks so much for the help.

Hey,
I checked it again and the Sidebar News widget is part of the theme. Try to install the latest version of Avisio and check if the widget is in one of the "widget pools" - "Available Widgets" or "Inactive Widgets". You can also use widgets like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/category-posts/ but they're not optimized for Avisio.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have the Avisio sidebar news widget for some reason. I have a portfolio widget which I am using to display portfolio items in the side bar on certain pages.

Could I edit a piece of code to change the number of posts / limit the number elsewhere?

Thanks again guys, much appreciated.

Hey,
just drag'n'drop the Avisio sidebar news widget into the column4 widget area. You can set the number of posts by using the sidebar news widget options.

You can use the PHP Code widget (drag from Available Widgets into the Footer-Column 4 field) and then use this code. "showposts" specifies the number of posts and you'll need to replace "yourcategory" with whatever category you want the posts to come from.

<?php query_posts('category_name=yourcategory&showposts=4'); ?>
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
        <li><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>">
          <?php the_title(); ?>
          </a>  </li>
        <?php endwhile; ?>

But you will need to format the output.

Hey All,

One other question if thats ok? I would like to limit the number of posts in column 4 of the footer - the default widget for that column. What do I need to change the widget to a 4 post limit. Sadly using the recent posts widget (or any other) isn't an option as the formatting is changed.

Hi!

Love Brightbox and the ease with which it goes together... however, having a few issues.

The main one is that I want to create 4 different portfolio pages and I seem to be limited to 3.
The process outlined below worked perfectly for the first 3, but fails when I try to add a 4th.

What I did:

1. Created a new page for the new portfolio with just the default template and a featured image.
2. Created a new portfolio category.
3. Used Brightbox Theme Options/portfolio and clicked the green + sign on the last entry..
4. Entered the appropriate catagory, target page, and hit save all changes.

What happened was one of my existing portfolios disappeared from this menu and was replaced with the new
portfolio. Net change + 0 new portfolios!

I've tried every permutation of this process to no avail, so I must assume there is a limit on the number of
portfolios I can assign in this manner! Is this correct? Is there another method?

Thanks!
