You can check somewhere like odesk or maybe codeable.io for a freelancer to do the customization.

As for the the other issue, make a new topic for it when you get back. I'm going to close this one for now so we don't get off the main topic and to keep things easier for searching/indexing.

Hi Nick,

I will be away for a week from today, so I won't be able to proceed on this until I get back in any case. I understand it is not a pure support topic as the theme works fine, I just would like it modified. I'll have a look at jquery sites when I get back but am happy for someone to freelance on this. I would like the captions to behave in the way outlined above... and while we are there it would also be good if the thumbnails could keep their original proportions rather than square - if that can be possible.

Regards,

Hi,

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was hitting you up for some cash. I will let the other team members know but if I were you, I would search on either a jquery showcase site or a site with lots of themes that have effects on portfolio thumbnails, till you find something nearly identical, because its much easier to adapt and modify something then to create an effect like that.

Thanks,

Hi,

A special effect this involved and time consuming, in my opinion is outside the scope of the support team. Your best bet is to hire a freelancer for something like that for two hours probably with testing.

Hi Guys,

Yes I am looking for a change to the background slider thumbnail caption. Currently the caption appears on mouseover of the the thumbnail but disappears when the mouse is moved off. I would like the caption to stay for 5 seconds UNLESS the mouse is moved to another thumbnail and then it will be replaced by that thumbnail's caption.. Or alternatively the caption could be displayed on clicking on the thumbnail and only disappears when either the main image or another thumbnail is clicked... I think either of these two options will allow me to hyperlink to another page from the caption, which is what I'd really like to do.

If this can't be done I will need to change all my galleries to the flexible grid gallery which is something I would prefer not to do if possible - would like my images displayed in the background slider...

I am hoping there is a fix for this???

Thanks in advance again if you can help here...

Hi Devin,

Not sure why but I am encountering the same problem as before - the title/caption of the background thumbnails moves upwards and disappears as soon as you take the cursor away from the thumbnail, thus preventing me clicking on a hyperlink that I've made in the caption...

Is there any way of changing the behaviour of the caption of the thumbnail so that it stays visible and does not move for a period of time after a thumbnail is clicked?

This wasn't a problem recently but it seems to have recurred...maybe it is something to do with the settings of the background slider but I've changed a few things and it doesn't seem to help...

Thanks for your help!!!

Hi - found the solution myself for linking from a caption in a gallery. Seems to work fine now but it previously wasn't when I posted this for some reason...

Hi Devin,

Thanks for your reply. The woocommerce product linking (from a regular image in a flashlight gallery) doesn/t seem to work. However I have discovered I can make a regular html link in the title/caption which is visible when the image is displayed as a thumbnail in the flexible gallery and it seems to work.

Ideally I would like two things:

1.Some linking of an image to its respective product page (I'm a photographer and I sell prints) when the image is in a background slider gallery - the title & caption disappear on mouseover and clicking on the actual image does nothing. (Also would like the thumbnails in the background slider keep the correct proportions... but that's another issue.)

2.A link in the caption of a lightox (prettyphoto) image. I have looked on forums and this may be possible but looks quite difficult and involves altering javascript files. (Last time I tried to alter this kind of stuff the whole website crashed and I couldn't even log into wordpress admin.)

On that note before I purchased this theme (and it is a great theme - thanks!) I did find that a lightbox variant "Foobox"is capable of accepting html in the caption for direct links... Foobox works well apparently with 'justified image grid' - a wordpress plugin - but I doubt that's going to work with Flashlight... Going out on a tangent here have you seen Isotope image display? That would be awesome in a kriesi theme like flashlight! I guess thats going to create a whole new suite of problems though.

Regards,
Michael

Hi M,

Can you show an example from the demo or your own site of what you are thinking? The regular WooCommerce products link to their own product page by default but the individual portfolio items aren't capable of accepting custom links.

Hello again,

I am trying to find a way to link somehow (?using html) an image in a flexible gallery or background gallery to its own product page in woocommerce. I see there is a way to link somehow using an attachment post URL' with a woocommerce product but I can't seem to make it work if indeed it is supposed to link to a woocommerce product.

I realize there may be a simple solution to this I can't find it after google searches and searching on this forum. Thanks and I apologize if this is another dumb question.

The slider works better now - I just noticed a small shift between the transitions. You can try to replace:

<ul id="aviaslider">

- otherwise the styling code of the slider doesn't work as expected.

Hi,

Wow! An ASP 3.0 website, I miss that language still. But I would consider switching to table-less design. It was very difficult to switch to css/div but Google Developer Tools make life a lot easier making changes than it was possible with tables. Good luck!

Hi,

On the Featured Media there is "Apply link to the image?" option, you can select "Link Manually" then supply the URL. If you don't want any link select "No Link".

Can you give us a link to your website so that we can inspect the slider?

Regards,
Ismael

Sorry if this isn't in the right place but I don't seem to be able to find where to start a new topic OR find a topic which is answering my question and I don't have hours to search it out.

I have purchased the Avia Slider and need to know these things:

- How do I link the slides to other web-pages or remove the links?
- How do I change the width of the slider?

Any help, links to answers etc. would be great thanks.

Hi sing_b,

Sure thing! When viewing your individual portfolio item scroll down to where you see the image in the Featured media. Click on Show to see the image options and then select "Link Manually" from the dropdown for the option "Apply link to the image?".

Then you can enter in your own URL that the user will go to when they click on that portfolio item.

Regards,
