Hi there - We'd like to remove the built in FB/Twitter links at the end of each post and replace them with the addthis social sharing plugin.

I see we can do so as per here - http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/how-do-i-remove-or-disable-the-social-like-tweet-buttons-on-the-blog-pages

But wondering if there is some simple custom css we can add instead of playing in php to ensure the changes aren't overrwritten when the theme upgrades.

Your help is appreciated.

Cheers:)

Hi there,

I found a way by creating a 6x2 image grid and then importing my own mono logo for each one. I assume I can make each box link to either a URL or my own portfolio page. Not as funky as having it switch colours but for now it works a treat. There's a nice rollover effect and a thin wire frame surrounding everything too. A work-a-round I do believe!!!

Cheers as always
Andy

Hi there,

thanks for the idea but im not sure its going to look that great - well, not without a huge investment of time and me asking dumn questions on the forum. I might give it a go if I get a moment or eight!! but im starting to think that a simple mono graphic impersonating a grid will be better for now. Damn shame as its nearly always a must for people creating a portfolio of work. Perhaps there are plugins out there. Ill take a look

Thanks anyway

You can use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/post-types-order/ to order the portfolio items. Another user had problems with the free version: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/remove-rollover-effect-on-the-portfolio#post-110067 - you maybe need to upgrade to the advanced post types order plugin.

Hi,
1) I'm sorry but imo it's not easily possible to add the greyscale effect to the portfolio thumbnails (at least not if you're using Enfold). I also gave a honest answer to another user. http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/greyscale-overlay-and-shop-as-a-co-workers-page

Can you point me to the post which suggest that "this would be relatively easy"?

2) 5/6 is not supported for the portfolio grid at the moment. You can select a 2,3 or 4 columns layout. You can try a workaround though - create 2 columns and add a 3 columns portfolio element to each column - it will look like:

Hi there,

Im doing my portfolio and I often see sites with a client grid with logo's that are links to other pages. Ideally it would be good to get an image to react on rollover and go from a greyscale image to full color or a duotone (say orange)

Before I purchased the theme it was suggested that this would be relatively easy but im not sure where/how the best way to go about this.

Can you suggest how to go about this and ensure everything is kept responsive

I would like a 2 row grid of 5/6 colums of grey scale logo's that would turn orange on rollover and have links to other pages on the site

Cheers
Andy

An easy answer is to use the quick-CSS option and do the following:

a {
 color: blue; /* non-hover color */
}
a:visited {
 color: yellow; /* visited link color */
}
a:hover {
 text-decoration: none;
 color: red; /* hover color */
}

You can set these colors via the theme settings, but to get rid of underlines, you only need the following:

a:hover {
 text-decoration: none;
}

Hi VroooomWeb,

Yes it is possible but it'll take a bit of custom css for each. The generated html for them is:

 ← Abstract (previous entry)

 (next entry) Happy holidays! →

So each would need to get styled depending on where you wanted the image/button. If you were looking for the links to be actually images of the next and previous items, you would need to write some new php in the includes>loop-portfolio-single.php .

Regards,

Devin

Bonjour,

Are you certain? Minimalism is hot again this season, why even Pasha De La Cua, redesigned his properties using only ASCII and a single shade of light grey. Looks marvelous...

Eh sorry, my attempt at humor. Hi. I am not sure what happen here because I think there used to be buttons there. Hmmm. Let me see what can be done, because I can't just rip some buttons as you understand. I mean I could put two images there for you and you can go find some buttons that you like, there are tons of them all over (google image search). I will get the Dude and Devin clued in on this issue because I rather not make buttons (i am color blind, so neither would you want them) so if there is a set of buttons that somehow got left behind during an update or something.... We'll figure something out.

Hello,

Currently, the portfolio uses text links for next/previous navigation. I was wondering if there was a way to change this so that the next/previous links were images instead of text.

Thank you for your support.

The slider works better now - I just noticed a small shift between the transitions. You can try to replace:

with:

- otherwise the styling code of the slider doesn't work as expected.
