Hi Peter,

I might have "killed" the page already by now. We now built a more static version. I might get back on this later once the project is life and I have more time on my hands. Thank you!

I have now built my pretty online shop and now my client wants to have a page with some text on top before he displays products of a certain category:

woocommerce allows us to use these pretty shortcuts do display hand selected products or categories:
[product id="2915"]
[products ids="2915, 3240, 2800, 3055, 3055"]
[product_categories number=""]
[product_category category="categoryslug" per_page="12" columns="3" orderby="date" order="desc"]

However, the styling is very different from my selected shop layout. The font is off (all capital letters) and it displays 4 products in a row (I want 3, since the german text of the hover effect "In den Warenkorb" becomes unreadable otherwise.

Is this possible? Can I assign a custom css class to this somehow, thank you very much!

Well... took me a while to figure it out...

In woocommerce/templates/loop-shop.php

Replaced <h1><?php the_title(); ?></h1> with:

<h2 style="font-size:14px;"><?php the_title(); ?></h2>

That did the trick.

I know it seems like a small thing, but any guidance as to where I can change the header tag for the woocommerce shortcodes would be greatly appreciated. It would allow me manually to create a more pleasing shop front with custom product display order. As it is, the large all-cap header just looks totally out of place. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi Devin,

Thanks for getting back to me, but the issue isn't resolved at all. The products still display as a list (with bullet point, wrong header font). If you check both links, you will note they display differently. I would like the manual inserts to use the same code as the default shop display (no bullet points, small font with lower case letters).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi,

I would like to insert product manually on pages and blog posts by using the woocommerce shortcodes so that they show up like here: http://evergreenemusic.com/shop. When I use woocommerce shortcodes (doesn't matter which one) it always displays as really ugly list (see http://evergreenemusic.com/john-kruth/ under releases). Any css I can replace to make all shortcodes render like the actual shop page?

Thanks,
Mark

Hey,
have you tried opening that index.html file with your internet browser? It should really work. If not I'll mail you the contents if you provide me your email address.

As for the "intro" text it's hard to achieve this. Wordpress themes in general are created to preview the content of a post/page you're about to view. This means you'll have to edit the index.php file with the content you want to display. If you don't plan on changing your homepage content it's a possibility.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I had indeed found that folder and went through all the files but there is nothing that resembles a manual. The only .html file in my Documentation folder is one called index.html which leads to a page "No data received" . Any ideas? Can you email it to me?

Also... I am trying to set up my hp like the Newscast demo page, that is 3 large articles followed by 4 small ones in the left column but am having a hard time seeing how to do that. Maybe it's in the manual so if we can solve the first part then the second is automatically answered.
The site is http://www.angelinadraper.com

I tried the the_content fix but it would show any inserted pictures before the words. The manual excerpt option worked though. I'm not sure how I stripped the line breaks, but the workaround is great. Thanks for helping me know what to look for.

Hey,

I think the problem may be that the_excerpt() function has been adjusted to strip out any HTML / line breaks etc. One solution to this is to change the_excerpt to the_content (in index.php line 45) and use the More function to choose where your content should cut off.

The "Read More" section of the slider used to allow separate lines. Now it just combines all text into one paragraph. I don't know that I changed anything, but something seemed to switch all of a sudden. I updated WP but I'm not sure if the error was before or after that.

Thanks for the help!
