Yeah. Edit the page, go to Gallery Options, Insert image to slideshow. Add as many images as you want. Under Gallery Layout, select Flexible Grid Gallery. Update the page.

Tbh I've no idea why it doesn't work because I'm not familiar with the foobox code. Personally I'd try to bind it to the container element with

container.FOOBOX.init();

because window.FOOBOX.init() will probably include all images (background slider, masonry gallery, etc.) but I'm not sure if this works out.

Thanks Dude!

A Foobox developer sent me the Foobox function call : window.FOOBOX.init();

Now Foobox is opened properly for all the pictures of the masonry galery. But after the 8th picture, when we click on a thumbnail it doesn't open the correct picture... A bit embarassing!

Any idea?

You need to "bind" the foobox lightbox/effect to the masonry grid items. If you scroll down new items will be loaded and foobox doesn't recognize them if you don't bind it to these items/elements. Kriesi uses the imagesLoaded event to bind the prettyphoto lightbox to the new grid elements and you can probably use it for foobox too. Open up wp-content\themes\flashlight\js\jquery.masonry.min.js and search for:

container.avia_activate_lightbox();

Replace the avia_activate_lightbox() function with your foobox function call and it should work. If you don't know the exact code please contact the plugin author and ask him for detailed instructions.

Hi,

Deactivate the prettyPhoto plugin. Go to js > avia.js then find this code

//activates the prettyphoto lightbox
	if(jQuery.fn.avia_activate_lightbox)
	jQuery('body').avia_activate_lightbox();

Replace it with

//activates the prettyphoto lightbox
	//if(jQuery.fn.avia_activate_lightbox)
	//jQuery('body').avia_activate_lightbox();

Maybe there is a conflict between the two lightbox plugin.

I noticed a problem with my masonry galeries (flexible grid galery) and the Foobox plugin.

Foobox is well instanced for the first eight pictures, and then the image doesn't open in a lightbox but in a white window.

An example : http://www.benoitrual.com/?p=184
On an image of the first or second line, the Foobox lightbox is opened properly but not on an image of the third line and the following lines...

Could you check what's wrong ?

Hi winstonsf,

From what I remember, this is related to a permalinks issue as the page is unable to call the correct page name when trying to dynamically load in the next set of images from the next page.

Try changing you permalinks to default and see if that works for you. Double check that the portfolio slug you have chosen in the theme options does not share the same name or slug as any other page in your site and finally go through the wordpress troubleshooting tips regarding permalinks if you'd like to have them: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Fixing_Permalink_Problems

Hi guys,

I have tried the above instructions to also get an auto-load on a specific gallery and have changed the code to function display($itemcount=50) as I want to display more than 10 but not necessarily 100.

But this doesn't work, it still wants to "loading images" when I touch the sidebar and only shows a certain number of images - ??

The page is:
http://31.25.191.49/~photos/gallery-item/wedding-photography/

In addition to this, even though I have turned off auto-rotation you will see that after a few seconds the first couple images which are landscape orientation are almost overwritten by a portrait style image that also happens to be in the gallery.

Any ideas on how to sort. Ideally I want the (eventual) 20-30 images to all show up - whether it has to be by scrolling down to see more or not but if the scrolling option has to be it, can it please work for me as it isn't.

Thanks in advance,

...Noob here, and though i searched for a long while, I didn't see these two questions answered yet (if they have been, please send me the link!)...

I'm using the Flashlight theme.

Question 1: I'd like to use the Flexible Grid format to display my blog posts, and the posts will be varied and may included lots of photos. Is the flexible grid format in this theme equipped to handle this type of use (with tags, keywords, multiple images, video, etc) or is this asking too much?

Question 2: If the flexible grid isn't a viable blog option, how do I go about increasing the width of the blog page? I would like to keep the sidebar for other pages in the site, but for the Blog page, as well as the individual Blog posts, I'd like the width to be full and not to have any sidebars with widget. This seems like an obvious question to answer, but I haven't found it yet.

Thanks!
Kelly

Hi commonmodel,

I think it would be better to actually have something like that (permanent and built in) added with a theme update that way its supported across the board.

Hi Chris,

I just tried replacing all the code as you've suggested and it did not work for me. It actually took my site down due to some error with "Line 79." I put back all of the original code and the site is working fine.

However, I have yet to find a good, straight-forward, and easy to understand explanation of how to add social media integration, such as a "Like It" button, "Pin It" button, and "Tweet It" button to the Flashlight theme. I would ideally like to add it to each of my portfolio entry items (each photo within the gallery/portfolio). Here is my site: http://CommonModel.com and here is where I would like to add the buttons: http://commonmodel.com/gallery/dmills/ and in blog post entries.

I am a new developer (so I could be doing something wrong), but I have tried various plugins which do not seem to work well. I also tried searching for this on the Kriesi support boards, but could not find any good resolutions. Do you think your team could put together one manual on how to address the high demand by your users to share via social media? I think there would a lot of appreciative users.

Thank you for your time! Your team is great with support and have always been helpful!

You can increase the item count to a very high value - open up includes/helper-slideshow.php and replace:

function display($itemcount=10)

with eg:

function display($itemcount=100)

Because of performance reasons I'd keep the value low though.

Is it possible to get the Masonry gallery to auto load, instead of loading on scrolling?

I love it, but on one specific page I want it to auto-load everything.

Hey,

I just spent a lot of time figuring this out. I hope it works.

Add this to your Quick CSS or custom.css to hide the Lightbox effect you'll get on the button.

.masonry-content .noLightbox span[style] {
    display: none !important;
}

Add this piece of code I found to your functions.php to get the current page URL needed in the Pinterest button code.

function curPageURL() {
$pageURL = 'http';
if ($_SERVER["HTTPS"] == "on") {$pageURL .= "s";}
$pageURL .= "://";
if ($_SERVER["SERVER_PORT"] != "80") {
  $pageURL .= $_SERVER["SERVER_NAME"].":".$_SERVER["SERVER_PORT"].$_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"];
} else {
  $pageURL .= $_SERVER["SERVER_NAME"].$_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"];
}
return $pageURL;
}

Add this before your closing head in header.php (not sure if it's needed but .. ah well, I'll just believe Pinterest)

<script type="text/javascript" src="//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>

And, because I forgot what I did in flashlight\includes\helper-slideshow.php I suggest you overwrite it with this code.

It works for me and I sure hope it works for you. I don't have a Pinterest account so I can't test it - but the link is correct. Let me know what happens.

Cheers,
Chris

I want to use the Masonry Flexible gallery for some of my galleries, I would like to add a Pinterest PinIt button under each image in the gray area beneath. I would also like to put in a share on facebook and tweet button as well.

Has anyone accomplished this yet?

If not, this is very important. Pinterest is a huge source of traffic.

Hey! this is a known error and will be fixed with the next version of the lightbox. we just have to wait until it is released, then the themes will also get the new lightbox ;)

Hi there! I'm experiencing a couple of quirks when viewing my site on an iPhone or iPad, or any device with zoom/swipe options. The problem occurs when clicking a photo in the Masonry grid. It opens up in a nice lightbox, using PrettyPhoto. However when I zoom in on the opened photograph, the whole site adjusts it's size making the view jump. When swiping back to the zoomed in image, it keeps jumping back to the same unwanted position. How can I prevent this from happening? Is there some way to disable the resizing function when opening images in the lightbox? Thanks for your answer!
