Hey! Just wanted to tell you that for now there is nothing planned to add this functionality to the teheme itself. If we get the request more often we might add it but since you are pretty much the first one and you were able to solve the issue with a plugin I think it wont go up anywhere soon on the todo list :/

Hey!

You need to use an additional plugin like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/ - it adds some new settings to the page/post editor and you can configure the description, title, etc.

Hello,

just wondering, how exactly does SEO work?
and do I have to add in any keywords to the meta somewhere... if so where do I do that?

Thanks.

Hi Nick,

I have a backup plugin that creates metaboxes for me dynamically and am going to use that for now. Do keep me posted on the progress here, as I would love to implement this as a more permanent solution.

Thank you in advance

HI,

What I provided will work dynamically as well, you will just have to fill it out once on every portfolio item to add the url you need. I think if you try it you will see the benfit during this interim.

Thanks Nick! However - I'd really like to grab the ones I've already set up, as I have a number of them. I'm assuming something similar to the above would work as long as I can figure out the ID of the individual metaboxes (which I haven't yet).

Is there any other admin on here you can flag to this topic? Would really appreciate it!

Hi,

They are beyond my meager skills to reach, however here is a shortcut. I pasted some code http://pastebin.com/ehT0sZVx since its too big for here, and this will create an additional meta field on the portfolio item admin page labeled Special URL bellow the current meta fields. In that field you add the url you want to use as a link. Just add the block of code from the above url to the end of functions.php. I tested and it works fine.

Then you can use the php below in the link on the portfolio item page as you wanted. The code below will echo the url in the new meta field.

<?php echo get_post_meta($id, 'nick_portfolio_url', true);?>

Thanks,

Hi there,

I have a few metaboxes in my portfolio which displays on the frontend like urls to social media network, I'd like to grab the individual meta box data and use it as a link for an image in the front end, how would I go about doing this?

Thinking something along the lines of this:

<a href="<?php echo meta post data somehow ?>"><img src="imagelink.jpg"></a>

Hi,

This code will make the menu link color of the current page : red. Please add it to /css/custom.css or to Quick CSS located in the admin area .. Replete > Theme Options > Styling ... the text area at the bottom of that page...

#top .header_color .main_menu ul:first-child > li.current-menu-item > a, #top .header_color .main_menu ul:first-child > li.current_page_item > a {
color: red !important;
}

----------Social media

Your best bet is to use a plugin for the social media and insert it into that place via a shortcode or php that comes from the plugin itself.
Here is a good free social plugin ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/socialize/ ) though there are dozens of others, both free and premium.

You would need to add the code from the plugin in between line 79 and 80 of /includes/loop-index.php in the theme folder

Thanks,

Hey! Sorry there is currently no way I can thing of to speed up the migration.

The reason the theme behaves as it does is because of the sucky default gallery implementation of wordpress which automatically uses all images uploaded to an entry an dI thought I could at least change it to a way that a user has a dedicated gallery for each post and still can upload images to the post.

To be honest: it wasnt probably the best execution, I totaly agree with you on that one, but by now there is not much I can do. I coul definitley implement the new gallery/slideshow system but that would break the old version, and cause distress for 2500 customers, so I decided against it...

Tbh I didn't test the e-commerce plugins with Choices. WooCommerce and Jigoshop won't work with it. You can test the Cart66 Lite and the PayPal Shopping Cart plugin for free and you don't risk your money. The Tribulant Shopping cart worked very well with Vevet and since version 1.6.9 you can create "product entries" by using a custom post type.

Hi,

For you to know, there's a conflict between the last woocommerce and the SEO pluggin by Yoast.
If variations on a product, won't be able to upload pictures in a sustainable way.
Have to desactivate except if somebody got a trick to make it ok.

Hi qaidj,

If you only want to hide it on certain pages, you could just add that page to the css selector. Something like:

#top.page-id-31 .post-meta-infos {
display: none;
}

Where the page ID number is the specific one for your page.

Regards,

Devin

Making my way through a customization of this great theme, I've come upon this question:
How can I hide the post-meta-infos div only for posts of specific categories?

Thanks to anyone offering their time and insight.

The way the Template builder works, I am able to use post content in some of my page-like presentations, but I don't want the post-meta-infos showing on those presentations because they're not appropriate. I could simply hide it in the CSS (my interim solution), but there are some posts that I DO want to have the meta shown on (like a regular blog post).

Thanks again for any help.
