Hi,

Here is how your page looks on windows 8 on IE10, FF, and Chrome for me:

http://i.imgur.com/FdLfS.png

http://i.imgur.com/Wy7Da.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/YXYJ8.png

Something was endlessly loading on FF (don't know what...), but for some reason when i installed firebug to look at its cause (new windows8), there was no longer anything endlessly loading, and I couldn't replicate it again. I will try uninstalling and will compare the flashlight update to previous version.

...

I compared the code between the versions. 12 files were updated, but I can't see what could be the cause of anything endlessly loading on FF.

Thanks,

Nick

Ahh I see, Chrome is reading it as a touch interface so you are getting the mobile view (at least that is my guess based on that image).

I'll have to tag this for the rest of the support crew as I can see anything that is obviously hanging/not loading.

Thx xGSTQ! :-)

@ Devin:
Oh, you're right. The Chrome-Issue is not a Flashlight-Issue. It's a Windows-Bug or -Feature, depends on the point of view. ;-)
Win7 with Chrome looks good, but Win8 - take a look: http://www.kielhorn-photo.de/tmp/Kriesi/Win8Chrome.png

The Firefox-Problem:
I've done so. I disabled all Plugins and deleted Kriesi's "Avia Feedback Plugin", which is unused at this time. But the problem stays the same. Tried it with Firefox on Win8 and Linux. The next try was to change the User-Agent of my browser. Just to make shure, that the custom-function is not that problem. But no solution.

Ideas?

Hi Dennis,

I'm not getting any errors in Chrome but I do see the Firefox issue where it just keeps loading.

I'd suggest first making sure all your plugins are up to date with 3.5. Then try disabling all of theme and then test everything again.

Hey Guys!

Long time no see! I hope, you had a nice start into 2013. :-)

Two day's ago I updated my Flashlight. Themeforest says, I updated to 1.9. Wordpress point's out 1.8. So I'm not really shure, what I've got.

That given, there are two problems:
Firefox (on Win and Linux): Endless loading icon.
Chrome (Win only): Mini-Content-Area is moved to top-left. You can see it at my homepage: kielhorn-photo.de
Chromium (Linux) seems to work normal.

Wordpress 3.5

Thank you in advance!

I don't know specifically what was changed but you can copy and use the source file from here: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/wp-content/themes/flashlight/js/avia_fullscreen_slider.js To replace yours in the same place.

You'll need to ftp to your server and download the file from the flashlight theme files. Its in the js folder and once downloaded you can open it in a text editor and paste in the code from the link above. Save the file and put it back in the same place on the server.

The reason for the change was it was causing a lot of functionality issues for mobile users so Kriesi decided to go function over form since the visual wasn't that much different.

Regards,

Hi lchales,

I believe this is because the mini content area was changed from version 1.6 to 1.7 where it was modified to better suit mobile devices and the demo is for some reason still using 1.6 (which is now incorrect and outdated).

If you still have the previous 1.6.2 files, you could replace the js/avia_fullscreen_slider.js file on your live site with the 1.6.2 version and it would revert. This would need to be done via FTP.

Did you upload a semi-transparent background image? You need to place it in the flashlight/images/skin-minimal/ folder and call it bg-trans.png. You can create a semi transparent image with Photoshop or Gimp.

Hi guys,

I am sorry, it does not seem to work, I also try variations like this one:

.entry-mini .box {
background: transparent url(../images/skin-minimal/bg-trans.png) repeat 0 0 !important;
}

Maybe I can give someone access to the site?
Or another suggestions is always welcome.

I am pretty sure that

.entry-mini .box has to be used.

Hello, I also wanted to change the background color.

In the Admin under Custom CSS I added this.

.entry-mini {
transparent url(../images/skin-minimal/bg-trans.png) repeat 0 0;
}

Could you maybe give me advice what I am doing wrong?
I use the same transparant image as in the left menu.

Best Regards,

I have tried changing all the .entry-mini, .box etc in the css, even tried creating a new template with no luck.
My client is really asking for a transparent front page box, I could really need the help here!

Hi, is there any way to provide the code to change the mini content into semi-transparent using a png as background, but keeping the text and info inside 100% visible?

Yes - you can use a semi transparent png if you'd like to avoid transparent text/content.

That's very neat. But it makes the text transparent as well!
