Hello,
I have a serious problem to log in on my second site of a WP network installation. This relates to the theme site log in page, not that of WP. I would like to offer the customers just one page to register and log in, so I just removed the registration button from the sub menu. This looks like this: http://epicase.de/mein-konto/
I did this also, because the registration page forwarded always to the fist site.
What can I do process the whole registration process over the log in page of the them?

Kriesi,

Thanks for everyone's help on this issue. You found the solution. I overlooked a hyphen in the child theme name that was causing the issue. -_-

Sorry about that.

@Devin,

It's interesting that you don't recommend child themes, you're the only person thus far who hasn't. I understand exactly where you're coming from, but in terms of efficiency I plan to have a few installs of customized Choices themes in my multisite install (don't worry I'll buy the multiple licenses ;-)). When Choices is updated I'd rather just replace the parent, rather than manually update the customized Choices themes since I plan on altering the .php files differently for each one.

Thanks guys!

hm, just did a quick test with a child theme and it worked fine...

you might want to make sure that the child themes name does not use special characters. other than that if used correctly I working with a child theme shouldnt be a problem...

Not any known issues though I never recommend child themes for any theme with as much backend customization options as Choices or most of Kriesi's themes have. You can use the custom.css file to easily load in any custom css and for those occasions where you want to edit the actual theme files, it would be better to just modify the theme files and keep a change log for when you update.

Gentlemen,

I'm sorry there is one important detail I forgot to mention is that I've created a child theme for Choices. To be honest, I forgot I did that myself. Before I go wasting your time Dude, I'll inspect further. I deactivated the choices child theme and activated the Choices parent and it worked fine.

Are there any known issues with Child themes that prevent the settings from working properly? Perhaps it's something I did in the code...

I network deactivated all of the plugins on the site to no avail. I also reinstalled Choices. Nothing. At this point it's too late to reinstall my WordPress multisite, but I don't think that's the issue anyway... Angular works just fine. Has anyone else reported this same problem?

Hi,

Try to deactivate each plugin one at a time, see if you can find what is conflicting with the template builder. If it doesn't bother you, try to install the Choices theme again or try to setup Wordpress again.

Hi guys,

I just recently began to migrate my WP sites to a central location at WP Engine. I've created a multisite install and created my sites / imported my content. I have a single license to Choices and Angular. I've installed them and activated them within my network of sites.

On one site I'm using choices, and on another I'm using angular. The site using choices has a broken template builder. I can add templates, but I can't arrange /chose the element arrangements on them. ie. When I select "front page" as a template I see a blank area where the elements to arrange usually are located (text area / call out, portfolio, horizontal rule, heading + subtitle, etc).

HOWEVER everything is working properly in the Angular theme.

I'm running the latest version of WP. Are there any known plugins that might cause this for Choices and not Angular?

Thanks

Hi Kriesi

I get this message when I attempt to do a create network of wordpress sites:-

"Because your install is in a directory, the sites in your WordPress network must use sub-directories"

"Warning! The main site in a sub-directory install will need to use a modified permalink structure, potentially breaking existing links."

Is this a big problem?

Would it be easy to fix?

Would it mess up things with woo-commerce if the permalink structure was modified?

I'm aiming on using Propulsion on the first then another one of your themes (not ecommerce) on the second site.

Cheers

Yes, each wordpress installation/multisite instance requires a seperate license. More information can be found here: http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/395/70/themeforest-license-usage-examples
- attention: you don't need to buy an extended license though (it would grant you the right to use it on an unlimited number of domains/subdomains). However you need to get a single license for each multisite network blog.

I want to create a Wordpress Multisite network (under one main domain name) and include several Kriesi Themes to select from for the sub sites (example: http://www.domain-name/subsite)

How does "Theme Licensing" work in this situation? Do I have to purchase a license from ThemeForest for each sub-site that I create that uses a Kriesi Theme?

No, the theme does not come with a code restriction which checks the url. It should run on both servers. However maybe you need to update Abundance WooCommerce, etc. on your second server because the white screen is probably triggered by a php error.

After I deleted wooCommerce in my local website, I can see the theme Abundance. Thanks, Mya!

Now I got new problem - I tried my website with my web hosting company, http://www.mywebsite.ca (not the local one), the theme Abundance that I've successfully installed there weeks ago is gone and I got a white screen!

I guess this is a theme multisite conflict issue. I cannot remember well if I was asked for my URL when purchasing the theme Abundance. If I was, I must have entered http://www.mywebsite.ca (my website with my web hosting company). Once I tried to upload and install Abundance in my local website(http://localhost/wordpress), my theme Abundance previously installed in my website, http://www.mywebsite.ca, is gone.

I am using different user names for my website (e.g., http://www.mywebsite.ca) WordPress and my local website WordPress(http://localhost/wordpress). So I think the conflict is about the theme Abundance, but not the WordPress.

My question is: Is there a tag associated with the theme Abundance package during the purchase? (which means I am only allowed to install it in ONE website) How can I fix it so that I can install my Abundance theme both on my website, http://www.mywebsite.ca, and my local website? Is multisite install the solution? How can I do it?

Thanks,

I bought the theme Abuncance more than a month ago. I installed it in my websits with the web hosting server. Now I setup a local web server, nginx, and installed WordPress 3.3.1. After loging in my local site(WP), I could only see WooCommerce plugin(it came together with the Abundance theme package). Then I uploaded theme abundance.zip. The unpacking was OK, but install failed. Error message: no valid plugins were found.

Is this because I didn't multisite install WordPress on my local website? How should I fix it?

When I installed WP, I was not asked "Multisie" or "SIngle" install, by the way.

Thanks,
Claire

Hi,
Open up default.po with poedit: http://www.poedit.net/download.php and translate all strings. Then save the file as fr_FR.mo and fr_FR.po and insert/upload it into the propulsion/lang folder. Afterwards all theme related front-end tex should be translated properly.

Thanks dude,

I have no problem getting that file fully translated and sharing it here, but i still don't get it, and i would need this to work to do it.

I'm trying to learn how to build a multilingual/multisite install with WP using available online info, but the info here and the info elsewhere doesn't seem to fit.

So you're saying i should just translate that "default.po/mo" file and re-upload that same "default.po/mo" file into the folder ../themes/propulsion/lang/ ? Under the same name? Or fr_FR?

I translated "this entry has" from the default file, i saved both files (mo/po), uploaded them in /propulsion/lang/, and i still see "this entry has", and not my translated text. There's definitely something i am missing here.

Whit this method, how and where do i set the site language? Usually from Settings / General, but without using the WP language directory, i don't see the language option.

Does multisite / multilingual work while using a child theme? I know it works fine with one site, but multilingual i am not sure

Thanks

We don't offer a french version yet (we can just provide files other users sent us). You need to translate the default po/mo file by yourself. I'd appreciate if you can provide your translated files afterwards because this will help other users who want to use a "french version".

Did you translate the files from here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/propulsion-translation-files ? In the first post you said "I tried to take the po/mo files from a complete french wp download " which indicates that you used the standard wordpress mo/po file to translate the theme. This won't work because the theme uses other files. The standard wp po/mo files are required to translate standard text strings and the backend, the theme mo/po files will translate the theme text strings.

merci Laminak, merci Ismael
(Ismael, i speak perfect english, don't worry about french translation)
