Hey!

Eventually I plan to improve the editor and allow some advanced nesting with tabs/toggles/etc directly on the builder canvas, and also fine tune the shortcodes that are available when opening a text field in modal view but that will require a lot of changes to the template builder.

I will tackle it once the most common problems are solved and the most common requests are added :)

Hey!

We'll add some filters to the menu function in the next update - a filter will enable you to show the current page in the sidebar menu.

I added this as a feature request but on the off-chance someone on staff can tell me how to do it myself I am putting the request here too:

Simple request: I love the option for sidebar navigation (for nested subpages) but in a site with lot's of pages (and nested pages) that link across one another, it can get confusing. To aid the user in navigation please can you add the name of the parent page as a header to the nested subpage navigation?

Wordpress is by far the most static CMS when editing AND layouting content. Workaround won't be the prob - especially when you're using a custom post type (e. g. the Portfolio) to build a somehow larger database of entries it goes crazy and complicated.

Maybe the maangement of all the modals is/was a reason to disable the shortcodes within the editor. I'll have a look by myself meanwhile - shouldn't be that hard. If I get a (practicable) solution, I'll drop a note on it.

Thanks and regards!

Yes I think that's possible - however it requires a workaround.

1) Use the "Default Editor" and create your table (shortcode generator). Then save the table and copy the shortcode to a text file.
2) Switch to the advanced editor and insert the table shortcode into the tab element.

I'll ask Kriesi to add more shortcodes to the visual editor of the template builder - I'm not sure why they're deactivated atm and maybe it's a technical limitation.

Hey there,

I do know the limitations of a template builder, but I have to ask this question (I've searched already the forums):

Any chance to get the table-template into a tab within the builder? I don't need this very urgently, but it would be neat due to customer satisfaction.

Background: I'm using the portfolio as product showcase and I would like to use the table for the products specifications. The question itself doesn't depend on tables - it could fit any other content element.

Another question: how do I activate some (or maybe all of) the shortcodes for the MCE within the template builder? Currently there's only dropcaps showing up (for some reason)... If I missed a topic on that, please point it out for me. :)

Thanks and have a nice weekend,

Hi,

This is probably not really a flashlight question and probably a wordpress question but...

I am creating a series of nested menu items - i.e. with a hierarchy. I am wondering if it is possible for a root menu item (which other menu items 'branch off') not to be clickable, so I don't have to worry about putting any content on its page.

I'm sorry but Avisio doesn't support nested portfolio's at the moment. It's better to use the Nextgen gallery workaround.

Hi guys
Am enjoying a great theme here thanks, and sorting out functionality before look and feel.

I'd like to implement a multi-level or nested portfolio. It is for a photography group, so the top level portfolio items will each reference a portfolio for each member, which in turn can have a portfolio of up to three galleries. Each gallery will be a NextGEN gallery probably. This structure is replicated in the Main menu.

Creating a portfolio for each member's three galleries has been straightforward and looks great, but I can't find a way to create an 'Index' portfolio at the top level.

One possible solution I've considered has been using NextGEN's albums, but they work in a different way by needing to point to pages, and they don't look as good ...

Any help or pointers you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
... Ken

James,

Here is a link to a page I made to test the code I copied and pasted from you and WP documentation:
http://coaching.valiantlane.com/?page_id=1050

You can see the differences in the main section of the page. Plus neither code works in the sidebar text box to create a nested list.

Thanks for taking a look at this!

Hey,

You shouldn't need to modify the CSS to get the content to display correctly, although things may need adjusting for aesthetics.

Working from my first example:

My Link Text

My Link Text

My Link Text

this code includes nested list items:

My Link Text

My Sub Link Text

My Sub Link Text

My Sub Sub Link Text

My Sub Link Text

My Sub Link Text

My Link Text

My Link Text

The structure for sub items requires that the closing

on the parent (top level) list item is placed after the sub item code so it know where to be positioned.

A link to the page with the problem would be useful :)

Thanks for your reply, James! I have no problem doing the above -- a list with each one at the same level. What I would like to do is have a nested list such as this:

Item 1
Item 2
Item 2a
Item 2b
Item 3
Item 3a
Item 3b
Item 3c
Item 4

I looked up the html code for doing this on Wordpress.org and found the following structure, which works for page text, but did not work in the text widget (everything remained aligned at the left margin):

Category One

Category Two <----Note: No Closing List Tag

Sub-Category One

Sub-Category Two <----Note: No Closing List Tag

Sub-Sub-Category One

Sub-Sub-Category Two

     <----Note: Closing List Tag

           <----Note: Nested List Closed

Sub-Category Three

       <----Note: Nested List Closed

Category Three

      <----Note: End of entire list

Because this didn't work, I am wondering if I need to make a style sheet modification.

Hey,

You could use a Text Widget and add the appropriate HTML for your list here eg:

My Link Text

My Link Text

My Link Text

Can you elaborate on the content of this list (e.g. list of posts / list of blogroll links) so I can point you in the right direction if this can be achieved using WordPress rather than static content?

Many thanks for the support you've provided me. Have another question: Is it possible to create a nested bullet list in the sidebar?
