Hi utilligent,

It sounds like there may be an issue with either the theme files or something else that is an unknown. A major bug like that, if it was within the theme files would typically have been reported by now (since the theme was just updated). The latest version on Themeforest is I believe 2.3 (can be seen at the bottom of the main Flashlight page there).

I would suggest re-downloading the theme files and re-installing to rule out a file corruption at some point in the initial installation steps. I just tested a clean install on my local and live servers and am not having any issues with the basic visual editor.

We are unable to do anything for refunds as that is entirely handled by ThemeForest. Theme support is a voluntary service by theme authors and completely separate from the actual purchase. So if you are unable to get things set to your liking, Envato will be able to help with a refund.

Hi utilligent,

Latest theme versions can be found here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/latest-theme-updates-please-check-if-yourre-using-an-outdated-theme-version

You can also subscribe to the theme updates inside your Downloads section on Themeforest so that you get emailed whenever the theme files are updated.

Featured images are set from the first image you add, or that is is listed, in the Gallery Options section automatically. If they are not getting set, try disabling all other active plugins besides WooCommerce to make sure there isn't a conflict with the plugins.

The product images/gallery are handled by the themes built in gallery so that it can create the full screen background image effect and the other gallery layout options.

If you have not already, take a look at the few videos that Kriesi has posted for the theme here: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/video-tutorial/

This theme seems to be fucking with everything its not suppose to. I am trying to add an image with the native WP Insert Image button above the editor and I see my library and can select one but when I click the insert image to post and the dialog disappears the image does not show up in the visual editor or the code does not show up in the text editor. When I switch themes to 2012 the functionality reapers. What gives????? I need help ASAP because so far I have found 2 bugs that are major. I am working with a fresh install of WP 3.5.1 your latest theme and WC 2.0.8. Help or I want my money back and I am sure my client will want some restitution for the hours of customization I have billed him for.

I am trying for the life of me to figure out why my products will not save the featured image when I update my product. I am using the latest version of WooCommerce 2.0.8 WP 3.5.1 and what I know as your latest version and since you do not post it anywhere I am not sure what version it is. It was purchased in April of 2013.

My questions are as follows:

How do you save a featured image to a product?
Why is the product gallery not showing up on the details page?

Right now the only thing that shows up is the Gallery Options slide show on the product details page.

This theme is not working and the documentation is a dismal. Please help ASAP!

You may also want to try different origination email addresses. If you added an email address to the theme settings that isn't the same as your domain, your host could be blocking it to prevent spam.

Hey thanks for the response.

I've tried both Contact Form 7 and Formidable and neither will actually send the email after the form successfully fills out.

I've also contacted my host and they said they are using the standard PHP mail functions. Do you have any other suggestions?

Please contact the hoster and ask them to check the server configuration. Our theme uses the standard php mail() function: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mail.php

Hello,

A client just emailed me with an urgent notice that the contact form isn't actually working on her site. I also checked for javascript errors with none showing - and also tried disabling any additional plugin which also did not work.

Devin,
You were right! The representative from "WPEngine" that 'set up' the "staging" site for us forgot to tell us that only the images from the past month were transferred from the 3.4.2 "production" site! So, we took a chance and upgraded the production site to 3.5.1 and, at first 'glance', it seems to be working okay.

Thanks for your great support (and template, too!).

Hi Mark,

It looks like you just have files missing. The portfolio images are pointing to files that don't exist and the base file for that thumbnail is also missing.

and the thumbnail that is actually loaded on the front page: http://visualimpact.staging.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/L1-Computers-Cbsi-Powerpoint-465x346.jpg

We have decided to use "WPEngine" to host our new site (which we are planning to launch 3.13.13). They have told us that they really don't want to host our current site on 3.4.2 because of security concerns for the other site on the server that is hosting our site. So, to help us 'debug' the site running under 3.5.1, they have set up two URLs for us running on 3.4.2 and 3.5.1 to determine what's wrong.

Depending on the browser, on the home page there are either missing portfolio items (second row: Print, Television, Radio, Computers) or they won't even display (twirling 'loading' icon continues to spin without displaying anything). Site running 3.4.2 does everything the way we want it to.

3.4.2:

There is definitely an issue to the Abundance Tweet Feed plugin. It seems it has a compatibility issue with WP 3.5.1 since the problem only occurred since upgrading Wordpress. While the tweets are showing up there is a massive CSS issue with the line spacing. Please see http://www.oneofakindcycle.com and scroll to the footer to see what I'm talking about.

Our twitter widget requires the wp_remote_get() function to query the data. Maybe your server does not support socket connections in general or it blocks the wp_remote_get() requests. You can try to contact your hoster - maybe they just need to change the server configuration a bit or you can use a javascript based widget (like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cbnet-twitter-widget/ )

Hi Devin

I've done all things you described, but it's still not working:-(
One thing I noticed is that the theme does not need a permission to connect to twitter like jetpack do. Why not?
By the way the twitter plugin from jetpack does not work either.
To me it seems to be a wordpress problem rather than a theme problem.

PS: I'm a really regular Tweeter for this site too, so I've only noticed it stopped working in the last two days.

Hi Kriesi, I'm having the same problem as Datahjelpen, and I've had the theme installed since 2010, so the Twitter widget has suddenly stopped working. I've followed your suggestion and that of Devin, but it's not re-installing. I am assuming you're talking about deleting it from within the WP admin panel though. Do I need to delete it off the server and reinstall?

Thanks!

Bec

Hey datahjelpen,

If you have any plugins active, try deactivating them first. Then, remove the widget once again and make sure its removed on the front end as well.

Once again, re-add in the twitter widget with your user name and see if its able to properly pull your twitter feed. It may have had issue before since your previous tweet (for the one on the 25th) was so long ago but i'm not completely sure :)

Regards,

Devin

you might want to try to remove the widget completely and add it again then. sometimes when you query the twitter api you dont get a result and since the theme caches the results it might be possible that this is just a cached result

Hi!

I just checked your website and the frontpage slider works for me just fine. I can't find any js errors, etc. on your website too. Did you solve the issue?

Regards,

I have followed the change log and updated the appropriate files so the theme was up to date, but the issue was not resolved.

What is causing this to happen? How can I resolve this issue?

Hi,

You are using an ancient version of the theme. Please upgrade to 1.7 by logging into themeforest using the same account you purchased the theme with. Please be aware that the update will overwrite every single file in your theme folder so if you made customization to the templates or have changes in custom.css, please make sure to backup your current site first.

You are also loading 2 versions of jquery.prettyPhoto.js 3.13 and 3.01

Thanks,

Nick
