OK thanks, I saw that somewhere before. I don't have a .htaccess file because I don't use apache but I may change the php.ini.
Cheers.

Hi,

They say it is caused by the php.ini directive. If you have access to php.ini, look for register_globals On, replace it with register_globals Off.

In this case cookies active in the domain where wordpress is installed will be used by wordpress to create the query to the database.

Or edit .htaccess then add this code

php_flag register_globals off

You might also want to flush the Permalink settings. Change the settings a few times.

Regards,

OK Fixed it. Sorry but I spent hours on this yesterday and as soon as I ask for help I fix it.
I went back to the broadscope > Portfolio settings and two items had reverted to nothing selected. I set the
Which page should display the portfolio?
and
Which categories should be used for the portfolio?
(again) and it's fine now.
Not sure why the pages default to showing the gallery. Can you tell me why that is please?

thanks

UPDATE. OK, I was playing around with widgets, added a sidebar widget and category, then took them off. Now the 'sorry no posts' has gone and I have my portfolio page appearing under the pages !
There's some setting somewhere that's confusing me.

Hello, I'm rebuilding my site from scratch using Broadscope and on the home page I'm getting the ubiquitous "Nothing Found" "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria".
I've seen fixes for this in other themes and nothing seems to work. I've checked settings and categories and it all seems to be correct. Do you have any ideas of what is doing this specifically in Broadscope?

Hi Suzanne,

I did and was able to find the issue. There seems to be a bug with the exclude category from frontpage feed option. The excluded posts are still counted in the pagination but are not displayed.

I'll tag the topic for Kriesi to take a look at it. I have a feeling it has something to do with a change since wordpress 3.3 since that was the last version Newscast officially supported. Although, this is the first issue with the theme possibly needing an update to work with 3.5+.

Regards,

Can you create a temporary admin account so I can take a look first hand. Typically pagination issues are always related to permalink failure but if its happening with no permalinks set then I'm not really sure what the issue could be.

You can send the information to my email at DevinVinson (at) gmail.com. Make sure to include a link to this topic so that my spam filter doesn't grab it :)

There aren't any changes when modifying the permalink settings. As instructed previously, I have attempted these settings several times but no no avail. Are there CSS settings that can be modified? We want to see the number of pages that have content but none that display the "nothing found" message. Thank you for your help, Devin.

A third page on my site, http://www.stjosephshield.org displays "Nothing Found - Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." Earlier this year I wrote about this same problem and it was fixed by eliminating redundant posts.

In this news-related website, there are now two issues (January & March.) The January archive displays correctly the 2 pages of content. The problem is that the March posts include a third page that, when clicked, yields the "nothing found" page.

Can you help me resolve this issue please?

Thanks and regards!

Hey there,

So, I just noticed that out of nowhere, my pagination in my blog no longer works for Corona Theme. I have not added any plug-ins recently. This seems to have sprung up out of nowhere. Perhaps from an update?

If I click on page 2, 3 or higher, it takes me to an Error 404 "Nothing Found" page. The blogs that would exist on pages 2 and up still exist and can be located manually by going into the category archive and clicking on them. However, from the first page of the blog, you cannot go to any other page besides the first one.

If you look here: http://www.brentbarbano.com

On my main page, you'll find my blog labeled as News & Updates. Scroll to bottom and try clicking on page 2, 3 or 4.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Quick question, when I click one of these new, shiny, portfolio-only tags, is there a way to make it show thumbnails? Right now I get the post content instead of a thumbnail view like when you click a portfolio category. Thanks :)

Hi,

To see something you need to make a blog post using the same tag. Portfolio items have their own categories. Tags aren't unique to portfolio items but shared with the blog posts.

A cool use for the tags would be linking them to posts, so if u put a tag 'waffle iron' on a blog post, you can have a waffle iron portfolio with that tag linking to all waffle iron posts so they are interlinked. Good SEO value!

You need to make a completely separate taxonomy calling it something like Tags2 if you want to have tags only shared between portfolio items.

// registration code for portfolio-tags taxonomy
 function register_portfolio_tags_tax() {
 $labels = array(
 'name' => _x( 'Portfolio Tags', 'taxonomy general name' ),
 'singular_name' => _x( 'Portfolio Tag', 'taxonomy singular name' ),
 'add_new' => _x( 'Add New Portfolio Tag', 'Portfolio Tag'),
 'add_new_item' => __( 'Add New Portfolio Tag' ),
 'edit_item' => __( 'Edit Portfolio Tag' ),
 'new_item' => __( 'New Portfolio Tag' ),
 'view_item' => __( 'View Portfolio Tag' ),
 'search_items' => __( 'Search Portfolio Tags' ),
 'not_found' => __( 'No Portfolio Tag found' ),
 'not_found_in_trash' => __( 'No Portfolio Tag found in Trash' ),
 );

 $pages = array('portfolio');

 $args = array(
 'labels' => $labels,
 'singular_label' => __('Portfolio Tag'),
 'public' => true,
 'show_ui' => true,
 'hierarchical' => false,
 'show_tagcloud' => true,
 'show_in_nav_menus' => true,
 'rewrite' => array('slug' => 'portfolio-tag', 'with_front' => false ),
 );
 register_taxonomy('portfolio-tags', $pages, $args);
 }
 add_action('init', 'register_portfolio_tags_tax');

You can try something like this. Drop it please into your functions.php, and see if you have a new taxonomy in portfolio

Thanks,

Nick

Hey Otto,

I'm not sure what else could be going on. I've tagged Kriesi on the topic so that the next time he is going through support topics he can take a look and perhaps shed some additional light on the issue.

Regards,
