1) The top link is not translatable with po/mo files. please open up wp-content\themes\avisio\footer.php and search for following code:

<a href="#top" class='scrollTop'>top</a>

Replace "top" with your custom text (but don't change the class or the href value).

To translate the form captions you can use po/mo files - translate the po file with poedit and upload the mo & po file into the avisio theme folder. (call them de_DE.po and de_DE.mo). Make sure you're using the German wordpress version: http://de.wordpress.org/

2) To change the sidebar content add some widgets to it. Go to Appearance > Widgets (or Design > Widgets) and there you can drag'n'drop your widgets into the sidebar.

The reason why it doesn't work is that pl_PL.mo is required to translate your website. It doesn't make sense to rename default.mo to pl_PL.mo because th mo file is a compiled version of the po file. Did you try plugins like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/codestyling-localization/ ?

Hi jootro,

I've flagged this topic for another of the support crew who is more comfortable with WPML and should be able to help sort things out for you. If you have not already, I would definitely suggest reading through the wpml documentation to get familiar with the basics of edting .po and mo files.

Hi, I`am afraid I broke something in the *.po, *.mo files and I need your help to get it working.

Basicly what i did was,
open default.po, edit it a little bit in notepad (only adding translations), save
open default.po with poedit, edit more, save (it crashes constantly so I abandoned it)
copy default.po to pl_PL.po
open pl_PL.po with notepad and edit little more, then with poedit more, save it (no pl_PL.mo was created, I don't know if it is expected behavior)
copy default.mo to pl_PL.mo
open pl_PL.po with poedit, edit it more.

But it keep on not working and I have no idea why is that, please HELP!

Note: Backend language is set to pl_PL, the whole backend is translated as expected.
Note2: I checked if the files from webroot/wp-content/languages work at webroot/wp-content/themes/corona/lang and the result of the test was that they worked.

The domain of the webroot = d9.com.pl

Hey,
Yes, the theme options panel (and the template builder) aren't translatable yet. However I'll report your request to Kriesi. Some frontend text strings are not translatable too and you need to hardcode the translation manually for now (I'll ask Kriesi to make them translatable with the next update). You can translate the edit links by modifying includes/loop-page.php and includes/loop-index.php - search for following code:

<div class="hr"><?php edit_post_link('Edit', '', ''); ?></div>

and replace Edit with any other word/text of your choice.

I saw that someone wanted to translate their own language but I couldn't reply in that thread.

I've translated my blog into Swedish. What I did was that I downloaded PoEdit: http://www.poedit.net/download.php

Then I made a copy of default.mo & default.po that can be found under /lang in the Sentence-folder, and renamed them to match my language (sv_SE). If you want the blog in German then you need to rename the files to de_DE.mo & de_DE.po.

After that I opened the .po-file in poEdit (the icon has changed to a terrestrial globe).

When you have that file open, you can translate all the keywords that you would like.

When you have translated all the wanted keywords, upload both your de_DE.po & de_DE.mo files into the folder /lang in Sentence on your webserver.

Hopefully this will work. In order for this to work you need to have German installed as your main language in the WordPress Dashboard.

Hey,
ich habe einen fatalen Fehler gemacht...ich habe deinen Post mit einer Anfrage vom Habitat Forum verwechslt und dir die falsche Auskunft gegeben.:(

Man kann die "Read more" Beschriftung ändern, in dem man kclass_display_box.php bearbeitet. Diese befindet sich in display\framework\classes Ordner. Folgende Codezeile muss geändert werden:

echo '<a href="'.get_permalink().'" class="more-link">Read more</a>';

Entschuldige das Versehen - im Moment muss ich alleine alle Anfragen beantworten, für die wir normalerweise 2 oder 3 Mitarbeiter haben :) - diese sind im Moment jedoch krank und somit muss ich etwas zügiger arbeiten, was zu Fehlern führen kann.

Danke für die Antwort. Ich dachte mir schon, dass es besser ist in Englisch zu schreiben :).

--
Thanks for reply.

I translated the .po file, saved the results and uploaded the .mo file to my display theme directory. Unfortunately nothing happens, i still got the same problems. is there any step left?

Hey,

I uploaded a po file here: http://www.mediafire.com/?6mf8tp344nj400t

Please use PoEdit http://www.poedit.net/ to translate it. Afterwards save the results and upload the generated .mo file to your habitat theme directory.

PS: Ich antworte auch in Deutsch, aber Englisch hilft den anderen Benützern mehr :)

Guten Abend,

ich habe bereits eine der drei Mainpage Columns mit einer Page verknüpft und würde den dazugehörigen "Read More" Button gerne umbennen (z.B. in "Weiterlesen"). Für die anderen beiden, unverlinkten Columns, konnte ich die entsprechenden Einträge einfach finden... aber wo finde ich das für die Page-Vernküpfung?

Vielen Dank im Voraus,
Andreas

Hi there,

i have already linked one of the three mainpage columns to a single page ... now i want to rename the "Read More" buttons. For those columns who aren't linked to a single page it is no problem to rename, but the linked one is not to locate in the source code.

thanks in advance,
Andreas
