Thank you. A couple of comments: first, your support is the best I have seen. Repeat customer for sure, in the future.

Second, this is not a complaint, just a comment. Any theme marketed as a "Magazine" format needs to have a built-in capability to reorder posts, as the order of the posts affects the appearance of the site as determined by the sliders and the top-most previews on the Mainpage.

While a BLOG template is date-based, a MAGAZINE template has needs that make it layout-based. That flexibility is lacking in Newscast, though you may have advanced capabilities in more recent magazine templates. I don't know, have not spent the time looking, as I had settled on use of Newscast.

For page layout within Newscast, I have found that by using a full-width template and dropping in HTML code created in a HTML page layout program (I use Adobe GoLive), the functionality approaches that of a dedicated HTML page editing program.

But the sticking point right now is the lack of an easy way of reordering posts, which has a direct effect on appearance of the page.

Again thank you.

Hey,
because the code affects the query you need to modify archive.php (or create a category template: Just make a copy of archive.php and call it "category.php"). Then you need to insert her code:

global $query_string;
query_posts($query_string. '&orderby=meta_value&meta_key=date_value&order=ASC' );

after the first:

<?php

I can't tell you how (or if) the plugin, etc. works though.

To be honest I never tested "drag'n'drop" post order plugins myself but you can try plugins like: http://wpplugins.com/plugin/817/admin-extender/ (please note I never tested this plugin, I'm not related to the author and we don't support it - it's just a hint).

Since I did not start the thread linked below, I cannot change the flag from Not a Support Topic to Unresolved. Could you please look at the last post, a question in the thread? Thank you.

http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/adding-a-new-function-for-post-ordering-based-on-custom-field

Also are there any of the plugins you can recommend for the same purpose of reordering posts so they display in a different arrangement?
