At frist i'm bit confused because of the gallery image appears in the loop of the category but it doesn't appear into the category, only if i add the gallery option in the template builder.

Hi pocharlies,

The post thumbnail attribute isn't needed with Choices because it uses its own system. That being said, they are enabled but you go through the Featured Gallery instead of the wordpress Featured Image metabox. This would be the set of metaboxes below the visual editor.

Regards,

Siehe z.B. hier: http://www.wpbuch.de/2010/07/die-bildbearbeitungsfunktion-von-wordpress-sinnvoll-nutzen/

Hi!

Hallo,

Simon

Hey,
to set the featured thumbnails click on "Upload" => Pick image => Use as featured image" on the post/page editor page. You need to set featured image for all posts which will display in the slider and posts/pages which should display a featured article image. "Insert image/video" will add the image to the text content field.

Since WP3 there's the featured image option - it replaces the thumbnail options. Kriesi just forgot to update the docs. A featured image is uploaded by "Set featured image => Pick image => Use as featured image" (below the thumbnail options).

Hello, in the section of the instructions for Expose - "B 8) Adding Content" - it says "On the right border of your page you will find a field called Post Thumbnail. Once you click set thumbnail the media uploader will open and you get to upload a new image or choose an existing one." and you included a screenshot of a box on the sidebar that says "Post Thumbnail". However, this doesn't even exist in admin. How do you add a thumbnail image? I'm completely unable to do it.

I'm using the newest version of Expose.

Thanks,

You can use this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/get-the-image/ to fetch images from various sources (i.e. post content).

Hi Dude, thanks for the snippet.

I haven't tested your alteration yet, just to be clear - it would help with the default image, but how is it going to populate the thumb on the index page from an image from the post?

Sample:

I create a post, add title, in the content text + 2 images. The first image to be visible instead of the post thumb (not to populate two fields).

I suppose I could write an action on addition or filter on preview, it would probably be easier?

Hi there,

A client of mine owns a website with 1300 posts and we bought Newscast for him and installed as well. However his out layout had post thumbnails on the home page listed from the first image added in the post. Now, in order for him to work OK, he has to:

1) Create a post
2) Add images to a post
3) Add featured image for the slider to work
4) Add post thumbnail for the images to be visible on home page

Is there any easy way adding a post to populate header slider + index home page? Also this preloader when image is not available would rather be default image, it's annoying when it is animated gif or something.

Also, as this is an old blog, is there a way (script) to drive all the 1300 posts through that process and assign the images in the post as post thumbnails and featured posts?

Hey,
open up framework/helper_functions/kriesi_post_thumb.php and change following code to your needs:

$parameters .= '&zc=1';

However I'm not sure if you'll see any effect (I don't think so) because timthumb is just a fallback script and it's used when the wp post thumbnail function doesn't work.

Hello ~

I'd like to know how to adjust the settings in functions.php to take advantage of timthumb's zc=2, zc=3 settings. The L img hovers are often stretched since the dimensions are set & my client uploads smaller images. Ideally, you'll help me to adjust the settings so the image aspect ratio can be preserved while filling the dimensions.

http://www.binarymoon.co.uk/demo/timthumb-zoom-crop/

Thanks!

Hey,
there are some bugs/problems with WP3 (i.e. external link doesn't work correctly) - I already reported them to Kriesi.

Hey,

I've had a look at your site and it looks like you've installed the theme and I can see any immediate errors or problems.

To cover your questions:

1.) You can adjust the image sizes in functions.php - you need to adjust this code:

#####################################################################
# Define Thumbnail sizes
#####################################################################
$k_option['custom']['imgSize']['base'] = array('width'=>267, 'height'=>180); // backend preview size, if changed does not affect the frontend
$k_option['custom']['imgSize']['S'] = array('width'=>60, 'height'=>60); // small preview pics, eg for sidebar news
$k_option['custom']['imgSize']['M'] = array('width'=>180, 'height'=>135); // small preview pic for posts
$k_option['custom']['imgSize']['L'] = array('width'=>610, 'height'=>260); // big preview pic for posts
$k_option['custom']['imgSize']['XL'] = array('width'=>884, 'height'=>390); // big images for fullsize pages

2.) The popup image effect upon hovering over the gallery images (e.g. Site 5) is working as per the demo.

If you have any other specific questions, please let us know.

James

Hi,
I purchased your theme. But could not install theme like your demo. I made all things that you wrote in your installation manual. But unfortunately could not find where to change image size, because you said to mini, small, medium, large. Where to edit these? Also when adding new post, there is not “Post Thumbnail”, there is only “Post Thumbnail Option”, therefore lightbox effect does not work in homepage. Also when I click to “large”, there is not any images.

I am using wordpress 3.0.1.
My website: http://www.webzun.com
