Hi!

I've managed something else and tried another design for my logo. It was less complicated this way and I'm pleased with it.
AnywayI keep in mind that code which could be very useful in the future.

We can consider this thread as resolved. Thanks!

Kind regards

Hi,

You're right, I don't like it :-(
As you can see on the picture, ok I could increase the size logo but the space where the logo is contained has also increase so it goes on my slider.
The header size was perfect at the begining and the fact it reduces when scrolling down, I love it and want to keep it. I just want to increase a little bit the size of my logo.

What can we do?

Kind regards,

Hi,

What code did you use to increase the size of the log?

This is what I did, I uploaded a fairly large logo 300x200px then I add this on my custom.css

.logo a {
height: 200px;
}

.logo {
width: 300px;
height: 200px;
}

.fixed_header #header {
position: fixed;
height: 200px;
}

#header_main {
border: none;
}

Adjust the width height depending on your logo. I'm not sure if you will like how it looks when you scroll down.

Regards,

Hi,

My logo appears too small with 200 x100. So I want to increase the size of the logo on Enfold.
I found a topic on this forum telling to add a css code to quick css. I tried it and the size of my logo increased but the problem is that because I use the "small fixed header" the logo won't decrease automatically when scrolling down...

How can I fix it?

I'm working on localhost so I can't send you a link to show you...

Kind regards,

Hi,

Dude is correct.

What you can do is set additional constraints to even things out like this for example. Please add that to your /css/custom.css or to quick css located in Replete > Theme Options > Styling .. on bottom of the page

#top.archive .thumbnail_container {
min-height: 228px;
max-height: 228px;
}

Hi, no unfortunately this is not possible because you can't create such a layout with css/html. It's possible if you implement the masonry script: http://masonry.desandro.com/ but this requires a lot of work and is beyond the scope of our support forum.

Thanks Nick. I guess there's no easy solution.... boo.

So I've been adjusting my ratios. Now my next question is: Is there a way to not have rows align across but rather going down so there's less white space. Sort of like what pinterest has?

See white spaces I'm taking about here:
http://www.sanzencollection.com/product-category/art/sculpture/

Can I have images right under one another?

Thanks a billion

Hi,

You need to do some planning first. You need to come up with 1-3 sizes that you guarantee all the images will obey to in the product section as I wrote before. Or 1 size, but since some of the images are portraits other landscapes and some near squares, i suppose 3 would make the most sense. I am not gonna bore you with mathematical equations for setting up proportions.

You can chose one size for all the thumbnails or you can chose 3 sizes it is up to you. Since you are not selling plastic baubles you will need to prep your images prior to uploading, unless you want to gamble on wordpress.

What I mean by that is that wordpress has no concept of cropping and will ruin every single image if you let it , so unless your collection is as numerous as the Hermitage archives, you will need to resize the images yourself *prior to uploading* them to ensure no heads are cut off. I resized the image below myself first so I made sure it fit the way I wanted to.

Here , I tested one of your statues Thanksgiving, it is normally 300dps (which is meaningless online) and 5000or so pixels width and length. I set the program for 330x330 without crop http://i.imgur.com/ffEllEC.png

and this is what came out:

shop -> http://www.clipular.com/c?2249657=5lk3qS2XfqgjLOugSace5TgFqlw

product page -> http://www.clipular.com/c?2247734=27ZeixszuukQraAoRH7RhYqntjg

---

On your page http://www.sanzencollection.com/shop/mother-baby/ I think you are overloading the images and instead , each of your product pages should have attached pages with a full length slider that profiles each piece and has content , or poetry or something else along those lines.

Also dont forget to use the portfolio, since you can create a sortable portfolio of thumbnails sorted by categories and then instead of being taken to the portfolio item page , the visitor can be taken directly to the store item page.

Thanks,

HI NIck

I'm not sure I fully understand. If I install this plugin- what line item would I change and what do I change it to. Once I've updated, do I still need to upload resized photos that are 2:1 1:2 or 1:1 - Should I pick only 1 of those 3 options?

I installed plugin, regenerated and cleared cash but didn't see a difference in my shop products so I must be missing something.

Hi,

You don't need to have square images. However you do need to have images that follow some rules. Your images must be square, portrait configuration or landscape configuration. With 4 products per line, your images will be either 200x200 or 100x200 or 200x100 . So that means that the images you are uploading need to be in an aspect ratio equivalent to 1:1 .. 2:1 or 1:2. Of course 100x200 and 200x100 are arbitrary, you can have 175x200 and 200x175 and 200x200 for example. So that means you can upload lets say 200x400 (1:2 ) image, but if you upload 200x500 then 100pixels will get cropped to make it 200x400.

Please install this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ , which will create in your Settings > Media admin area all the pre-set theme sizes including for products. It will also allow you to set if you want the image to be cropped or not. Set it to no crop, and the size set to 200 x 200.

The images that you already uploaded will not automatically change to fit into the new settings and you will need to regenerate them. The regeneration option is also available inside the plugin I recomended. All new uploads will be of the new sizes you specified. Please make sure that you turn off all your cache plugins and clear out your browser cache after regenerating.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi, I don't have square images, so how can I create thumbnails that are not cut off. OR is there a way to choose how the image in centered in the product listing boxes. For example, left/right; up/down so my heads are cut off.

I uploaded an image for a product and tried to display it on the home page. The problem I am having is that it comes out pixelated: http://i.imgur.com/r1yhJK3.png.

If you go to the actual product page, the image is clear: http://i.imgur.com/7JH6J0I.png, and if you click on the image, that is clear as well: http://i.imgur.com/X6YcDx3.png.

Hi ken4656,

Try to add this code on your Quick CSS (Flagship Styling) or the custom.css file (located in the css folder of your theme's folder):

@media only screen and (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 959px) {
	.main_menu {
 position: relative !important;
 margin-top: 10px !important;
	}

	.logo, .logo a {
 left: 50px !important;
	}
}

Hope this helps. :)

Regards,

Sorry should've been more specific. The menu itself doesn't resize in portrait mode, so it's covering up the logo on the site. Do I need to tweak the CSS?

Good morning:

When looking at the site on an iPad in portrait orientation the site does not re-size. The site is set to responsive. Can you guys check?

Hi michoscopic,

I would actually suggest doing both via editing the theme than with adding css. While the css option is much quicker, editing the actual files will give you less issues down the line.

Specifically, the ajax portfolio uses a percentage wide grid while the single page uses pixels which get adjusted based on the screen resolution (responsive). So setting the grids to a static size may have some odd effects.

If you just want to do this change, you can edit it in includes>loop-portfolio-single.php. Search for these individually:

<div class="eight units alpha min_height_1">

and

<div class="four units entry-content">

Since this is a 12 column grid, the slideshow is using eight and the content area is using four. So you could just reverse them by changing the eight to a four and the four to an eight and have pretty much what is done in the ajax portfolio.

If you want to continue on and change the ajax portfolio too, you can do the same kind of thing in functions-flagship.php. Search for:

echo "<div class='inner_slide'>";

Just below that are the two divs that contain the slider and the content. You could remove your css change that you have so far and instead just switch the classes(two_third and one_third).

Regards,

Hello,

I refer to http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/how-to-change-the-amount-of-space-the-portfolio-slideshow-takes-up

Also see http://www.reach.com.my/portfolio/ and http://www.reach.com.my/portfolio-item/pc-com/

I successfully resized the AJAX portfolio to 35.5% and 60.5%, and changed the thumbnail to show the magazine properly with the following code in my Quick CSS:

.inner_slide .two_third {
width: 35.5%;
}
.portfolio-entry.one_third {
width: 60.5%;
}
.isotope-item .inner-entry .slideshow_container .slideshow {
height: 265px!important;
overflow: hidden;
}

How do I apply this to the single-page portfolio (http://www.reach.com.my/portfolio-item/pc-com/) as well?

Hi,

You can add this on your custom.css to change the main sidebar.

.inner_sidebar {
width: 180px;
float: left;
}

.sidebar {
width: 180px;
}

To change the width of the controls you can use this, although this might break the layout a bit.

.arrowslidecontrolls_fullscreen {
width: 140px;
}

If you have sidebar widgets for your left sidebar, you should also change their width.

.sidebar .widget {
width: 140px;
}

To change the gap, try this one

.sidebar.sidebar_absolute {
left: -40px;
}

You also need to adjust your logo.

Regards,

Hi,

I have been looking all over the forum for this solution. It seems like there are a few ways you have recommended to do it. I try to use the code you provide and put it in the Custom CSS under the style tab, and they either dont work or only resize the transparant part of the sidebar, the tabs stay the original size.

Im hoping you can provide me the code to insert that will make my sidebar roughly 40 - 50% thinner. If you can also have it move over towards the left of the page by about half of that gap that would be awesome, if not thats ok.

Heres my site http://jonmphotography.com/wedding-photographer/?page_id=196. Youll see that the sidebar is consuming too much of the pictures.

Thanks,
Jon

Thanks Devin.

An issue with the lightbox came up. I have a page with links
http://www.watersecurity.org/r/infographics

I had to re-arrange the order of these infographics because the lightbox was coming up when items were clicked on. Instead of going to the site where these items are located, they lighbox would appear. The problem is that the source of some infographics are within pages and not the image itself, so as the viewer clicks the Next Arrow in lightbox, at some point it hits an error.

I am using lightbox elsewhere and so I don't want to shut it down, but I'd like it to either work here or for a new page to open up when a pic is clicked to see the infographic.

Thanks Nick.
I will try the image sizes you recommend.

Also, is there a way of making the footer transparent so I can see the background. I want to give it a full floating "box" effect.
You had previously given me some code to grow the top margin. I was thinking of doing the same by using the footer.
If you also have the code for the bottom margin that would be great.
Thanks,

Hi,

1.

For the exposed blue color, I think you didn't 'push down' the 'lowest' panel, so the sliding panel that's in the demo became exposed. If you could revert that edit, and instead place the code below into the Quick CSS in the Choices Theme Options > Styling in the backend:

#info_text_header{margin-top:3em;}

If you want to make the height smaller please change 3 to 2.9, and so on in the line of code above.

2.

Regarding the video size, the problem lies with the aspect ratio since some videos are not recorded in the same ratio as Youtube assumes.. Would you try using images in the slide show using the sizes 1920x1177 or 900x552. That should work if you keep to that ratio.

The tiny Youtube menu on the top right corner of the video shows that this isn't an error but Youtube deliberately resizing the video to make it conform to it's expected aspect ratio.

The only other non time consuming solution would be to move the video to Vimeo or self host it, which would immediately stop the auto re-sizing. I will make sure to drop a note to Kriesi as well as see if the rest of the support team came across this before.

But please let us know how the new image ratios I suggested above work out for you.

Thanks,
