Hi,

It uses this thumbnail size.

$avia_config['imgSize']['gallery'] = array('width'=>710, 'height'=>575 ); // images for portfolio entries (2,3 column)

Change that to

$avia_config['imgSize']['gallery'] = array('width'=>666 , 'height'=>539 ); // images for portfolio entries (2,3 column)

This will resize it same size with the slider container assuming you have the same layout as this link http://www.kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio-item/slider-two-third/.

Regenerate the thumbnails. Don't use images smaller than the 666x539px.

Still looking for an answer to this. Turns out, if it cannot be resolved I need to scrap about 20 hours of work and start with a new template, so the sooner I know the better. I think the main guy is on vacation? Either way I would expect (and hope) a reply would come within the same day.

Just like dweb above, we are both eager for a solution to the very annoying problem.

If an image looks bad because it's scaled, then my work looks bad, and the whole thing goes to pot!

BUMP!!!!!!! :-)

If I go here: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio-item/slider-two-third/ and view the info for the first image, it shows 710x575 (scaled to 666 x 539). I tried changing the functions.php file to 694 x 562 as it says above, but it didn't change.

What I want is for that image on the single portfolio 2/3 to be 100%, not scaled or it will stretch and look blurry.

I also tried setting the width of the template to wide and widest to see if that changed, but both times it scales to 666. I was not able to find where to fix this, please help! I need to know what size to make about 200 images, and I need it done yesterday. :)

Hi dweb,

Try saving your larger images to 694px wide and 562px tall for those images. The current size is larger than that space and I think the slight loss of quality is due to the compression to fit the smaller space.

Hi,

Problem is that I have nothing to test this with but I still say that the plugin that generates a gif image every few seconds looks mighty suspicious. Also you are missing an image in the lightbox (next image) that is throwing an error. http://michaellungren.com/wp-content/themes/velvet/images/prettyPhoto/light_rounded/btnNext.png <--missing image. I am installing an emulator to attempt to see it that way.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8hqGBMSfHtKb2dsLUpYVFJYeUU/edit?usp=sharing you can take a look at the images being generated, made a screen cast since it was a bit unusual.

Thanks,

Hi,

For some reason you have a gif image that is encoded in base64 being endlessly generated over and over again every 10 seconds by portfolio-slideshow plugin. This specific file that generates it: ( <script type="text/javascript" src="http://michaellungren.com/wp-content/plugins/portfolio-slideshow/js/portfolio-slideshow.min.js?ver=1.5.1"></script> ) The version of the script you are using is 1.03 , despite the file claiming its 1.51.. while the current version is 2.11 ( https://github.com/desandro/imagesloaded/blob/master/jquery.imagesloaded.js ) Please update this file or the plugin itself and perhaps this problem will be fixed.

Thanks,

I have a problem with the portfolio images in the Velvet theme, when you go to an individual image to get a closer look. I thought this was an iPhone problem but it looks like it is a touch screen problem, because I have a touch screen win8 laptop and it does the same thing.

The problem is when you use the fingers to scale the image the screen or image shoots to the right. I figure it is a code problem but could not find anything and that is why I came here to see if you have seen this problem. Here is the link to the site http://michaellungren.com

Hi Ajb,

I believe the widest images used are 930px wide. If you keep the height to a minimum of 340px it should give you good performance without any un-needed overage.

Regards,

What are the image dimensions for the propulsion theme? I did an performance test on my website and it gets an "F" because i "scaled" my images down. Any advice on how to make this better?
Thanks

Hi thoddi,

Not that I know of no. The declaration is new with css3 and the can really only do break-word and normal it seems.

See: http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css3_pr_word-wrap.asp

Regards,

Oh, I noticed that it works now... Must have been some cache yesterday that prevented me from seeing the change. Is there a way to control how the words break? As it is now, it breaks the words in odd places (at the last letter and so) ... Could it be coupled to the language files so that it uses some sort of correct break of word?

I use a nb_NO (Norwegian) that I have translated myself.

Hey!

Afaik the text-size property does not support % values and the surrounding div/container is already optimized for the fluid layout.

Regards,

Hmmm, that didn't do the trick, but maybe I will need to do a manual line break in words longer than the available title area will allow? I was kind of hoping for a percentage scaling feature that would make the titles auto-fit...
