Hi,

Deactivate Jetpack and a few other plugins, though I think Jetpack is responsible. I see the code for your buttons and captions for each of the images where its supposed to be. So something is blocking the javascript. Also something is adding links to your website randomly behind 3 of the last divs. Please try uninstalling all except woocommerce, and flush your cache and take another look.

I've set the options I want for the button and the captions but no matter what option I use they don't show up. I've tried 3 browsers. The link the image works fine, it's just the button and the caption that aren't appearing for some reason!? Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hi,
you can set this up on the page where the slider is.

There you have to navigate to "Featured Media" and then

Tab Default Options -> Caption Title (Big Text) & Caption Text (Small Text)

and the for the Button

Tab Caption Advanced -> Caption Call to Action Button Label (Text for Button) & Apply link to the button? (for the link target).

Regards

Hi!

do you use the latest version of the theme?

an earlier version for chrome on mac had the same issue which we could fix with:

.sidebar{-webkit-backface-visibility: hidden;}

I've noticed a weird problem and I'm curious if there's an explanation/solution for it.

Windows 7 machine, using Chrome: left sidebar remains static
Windows XP machine, using Chrome: left sidebar jumps around

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3--q4PybU6A

Given that the left sidebar is such an important feature of the theme, this seems like a critical issue.

Hey. First, this forum has been unbelievably helpful for all other problems so thanks in advance!

I am using a one page portfolio template. I want to setup a link within the page that behaves with the same scrolling animation as the default section link behavior. I want the link to be from elsewhere in a page, not from the sidebar.

Hey guy, I found this solution in another post to permanently keep the left sidebar from scrolling,, add this in the Coalition - Theme Options - Custom CSS area:

.sidebar {position: fixed !important;}

otherwise,, note that your combined content in that left area should just be as little as possible to prevent the scrolling, and for decent viewing on smaller screens

It depends on the screen resolution of your screens. If eg all your screens have a resolution of 1280px x 786px the sidebar won't scroll because the sidebar height exceeds the viewport height on all screens.

You can try to decrease the logo height which will also affect the sidebar height. Eg use following code (you can add it to the quick css field):

#top .logo img {
    height: 50px !important;
}

to drecrease the logo height to 50px (I know this size is actually useless but it will demonstrate you that the sidebar now scrolls as expected). You can now increase the logo height and at some point you'll notice that the sidebar doesn't scroll anymore.

So if you want to solve this issue for your screen resolution reduce the logo size or use the hack I posted above.

This is the default behaviour because your sidebar exceeds the viewport height. You can activate the scroll effect with a hack but be warned that users with smaller screens (1280 > ) probably will experience issues with the sidebar navigation. Open up coalition/js/avia.js and replace following line:

if(sidebar.height() + sb_offset.top> win.height() || isMobile)

Hey!

Did you try plugins like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/strx-magic-floating-sidebar-maker/ - unfortunately a simple position:fixed css rule won't help you much because it repositions the sidebar.

Best regards,
Peter

How can I make the sidebar float in the "Broadscope" theme? Such that it remains visible when the user scrolls.

http://whysodumb.com/amity

PS- I have tried using some snippets found on other sites for accomplishing the same, but in vain? Maybe, someone in these forums can help!

Hey Funtastix,

Glad you were able to get into the theme a bit more with the help of the theme docs. I know they aren't perfect, but they do explain things pretty well.

I don't see what your colleagues are describing when I view the site so i'm not quite sure whats going on. Maybe someone can provide you with a screenshot.

Regards,

Hi Davin,

Well i went a little more through your documentation and then got to understand it a bit more!
its working now, thanks for your help!

The only thing, is that i got the website working fine and well, its looking good at my end as i have tested it on 3 different browsers on 2 systems (pc & mac)

But my colleague says that the menu is hovering along, and you get a link that says "click here to go to the top" instead of the menu?
Do you have any idea how this is possible?

and could you go to the page and see if this also happens with you guys when visiting the website.
Many thanks in advance.

Funtastix.
