I tried to change the permalinks and the problem still occurs. This issue happens only when the a page was selected as a homepeage on the theme options. When I accessed the page directly, the pagination works fine. If you have any caching plugin, you'll need to completely delete it from your plugins folder to keep it from effecting the site. Second, try changing your permalinks to default in Settings>Permalinks. If that fixes the issue, you can try switching them back to your previous settings. You can translate the theme with po/mo files - the default files can be found in the wp-content/themes/shoutbox/lang/ folder. First try downloading the theme files from Themeforest again so that you have a fresh copy to work with. There is actually an update to the theme available so while troubleshooting this it would probably be a good idea to update the theme as well. Specifically the framework files since there was security update in 1.3. Make a backup of the files you've edited within the theme so that you can re-add in your changes and replace them on the live site and see if comments are working. Or you haven't closed the commands properly (a stray parenthesis, or a semi colon missing, or an unclosed div). Really, you shouldn't need to change the .php files unless it's to change the way that the theme runs. To hide boxes etc you can use css commands which are easier to fix if anything goes wrong. I would put back the original .php files of the three that you changed, so that we can see if the comments are working. Then we can see how to make the changes that you need to hide the author boxes etc. You can get the original .php files from inside the .zip file of the original shoutbox download. Try that and see what happens. rich The blog meta is the little line of text that tells you the date the post was made, which category it's in, who posted it etc etc. It usually appears under the title of the post. What I can’t figure out is why a reply box only shows when I activate the Twenty Eleven theme for testing purposes. I have made changes to Shoutbox but only those that I found on the support forum for Shoutbox. Is there somewhere that I could look in the theme to make sure the correct information is there? In comments.php or loop-comments.php? I can make changes to files such as these if I’m told what to do! I had to toggle the settings-permalinks-post name to default and then back to post name. I used the shortcode <code>[bbp-forum-index]</code> to place the forums on my wordpress forums page. I used the default template with the side bar which makes the real estate available for BBpress somewhat small, but also leaves room for the login widget in the sidebar. As the forum was somewhat truncated from not normally fitting into the small space available in the Shoutbox theme default template (with a sidebar) I added the following css to the top of the bbpress.css <pre><code>img { border: medium none; display: inline; margin: 0; padding: 0; } .entry-content ul li { list-style-position: outside; list-style-type: disc; margin-left: 0px; padding: 2px 0; } .bbp-topic-freshness { font-size: 11px; /* size of font for freshness */ }</code></pre> This makes the default theme for bbpress play nice with the amount of space Shoutbox offers. The best and easiest solution is to add a single div at the end of the content to clear everything. Open up that page and switch over to the HTML tab of the visual editor.
