Hi,
is it possible to have the pop-up text on the sidebar tabs line up with the specific tab title that's been clicked as opposed to always being at the very top of the box. Does that make sense?

ok, so I'm using sidebar tabs on this page: http://www.ruizdentalseminars.com/our-courses/

what I'd like to do is place a few buttons in the page content that, when clicked, open up one of the other tabs. so for instance, when in the Events List tab is open, I want to place a button that says "View Calendar" that then opens up the Calendar tab. Is that possible? thanks!

Hey Darrin,

That wouldn't be possible. The shortcode converts the item to its html output (the tabs in this case) and it isn't something that can be done on the fly for mobile.

You can either deactivate the responsive design in the theme options or choose a different type of shortcode to output your layout.

To clean up the columns inside the tabs, you can Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

.responsive #top .sidebar_tab_inner_content .one_third {
width: 100%;
}

I'll mark the idea for Kriesi to add in additional responsive width to the column shortcode when inside other shortcodes.

Regards,

Devin

Hi Kriesi:

I've noticed that the full-page width sidebar tabs I'm using on a test website's homepage (URL = http://www.wolfmaisontest.com) break apart when viewed on mobile devices (or on a desktop browser stretched to a very narrow width).

I suppose this is inevitable due to the limited width of mobile screens!

But, as you can see, they break apart into separate tabs in a rather ugly and non-readable way. Clicking on the separate tabs opens them without scrolling the page to the tab content's beginning. Worse, a nested multi-column layout within a sidebar tab does not wrap the text within! (see the "Services" tab...)

What would be GREAT is if there were some way to edit the theme such that a set of sidebar tabs are CONVERTED to Toggles (with one visible) when viewed on a mobile device (or narrow desktop browser). That might keep the tabs connected and open them for a viewer more smoothly....

That's probably pretty complicated code, though!...?

Best, - Darrin Hunter

Here you go, just change the colors and the image size in the css below, or just change the image sizes

.main_color .sidebar_tab_icon {
background-color: #E1E1E1; /*gray*/
}
#top .main_color .sidebar_active_tab .sidebar_tab_icon {

}
.main_color span  {
border-color: #E1E1E1; /*border gray*/
}
.sidebar_tab_icon img {
height: 24px;
width: 24px;
}
.main_color .sidebar_tab:hover { /*hover color*/
color: #666;
background-color: white;

Hi maku64,

It looks like you are not actually using the sidebar tabs but instead the regular tabbed shortcode. So what you'll need to do is try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

.js_active .tab {
    font-size: 13px;
}

I've already changed the font size from 11px to 13px so adjust from there as needed.

Regards,

Hi,

Just drop your images in this directory... /images/icons/iconbox/ . from the root of the theme. Your images should be in png format and they will be available to select in the list for the short-code (as you do normally)

And titles, just dont use any. See below

[sidebar_tab_container initial_open="1" boxed='true' ]

Hi Maku64,

Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

.sidebar_tab_title {
    font-size: 13px;
    font-weight: bold;
}
#top .sidebar_active_tab {
    color: #333;
}
.main_color .sidebar_tab {
    color: #919191;
}

You can then adjust each of those values to modify the font size, weight and color of the active tab and the non-active tabs.

Regards,

Devin

Hi Ismael,

thanks for it - i assumed this solution before, but it looks not really nice.

which options do i have more to make the sidebar links more visible (bold, bigger, etc.)?

best regards

Hi,

Do you mean when you click on a sidebar tab it links you to a page? Unfortunately this is not possible on the sidebar tab shortcode. You need to modify the sidebar tab function to make this kind of change work. You can hire a freelancer/developer for this job.

Or you just want to put a link inside the sidebar tab content? You can use html tag like this This is a link to page inside the sidebar tab content.

[sidebar_tab_container initial_open="1" boxed='false' ]

[sidebar_tab icon='Android.png' title="Title 1"]<a href="LINK HERE">This is a link to page</a>[/sidebar_tab]

[sidebar_tab icon='Apartment_Building.png' title="Title 2"]<a href="LINK HERE">Content with a link</a>[/sidebar_tab]

[/sidebar_tab_container]

Regards,
Ismael

Heya,

You can access your sidebars via your widgets menu in the admin back-end

http://www.yourweb.com/wp-admin/widgets.php

Here you can add available widgets to the sidebar.
You can easily drag and drop to different elements.

Wordpress will autosave every modifications.

Goodluck,
