Hi NiServices,

It looks like the plugin in-context-comments is causing a conflict with the theme. Disabling that should fix it, but if not, try disabling all other active plugins.

If you have any other issues or questions, make sure to post them in the Incarnation theme forum here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/forum/incarnation

Replete does not support self hosted videos in the slider. It just supports Embeds: http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds (like youtube, vimeo, etc.). flv is not supported at all (even if it works with additional players like vlc). Html5 videos are (officially) not supported too because Kriesi did not include a html5 video script like: http://www.projekktor.com/ or http://mediaelementjs.com/ in the theme files. You can try mp4 and ogv videos though - probably they'll work even without the html5 video js scripts because newer browsers support them out of the box. However older browsers (IE8 , etc.) won't support them.

Is there any way to fix this also. I know some menus do it sometimes with videos and there's a code, to top overlay.

After the video or the timed slide it does not change and i do not see the arrows to change slides. It gets stuck on the video and it stops and does not auto replay. I tried with a swf but i always see distortion and pixels even with a 19MB top quality. The flv's look very smooth and rich.

Hi kristiegeorge,

For each image in the portfolio item, you can select what happens when you click on it. I don't know what the settings you have now are, but depending on the exact effect you are going for you may need to do one of a few different options.

Can you point out here which item you want to mimic the effect of: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/eunoia/

For overall SEO the image vs a few lines of html shouldn't make any difference on your search ranking. If you have the content elsewhere it will only get read by any crawlers once anyway.

Lists specifically you'll have issues with. You can add other html into the caption box (divs or anything else) but lists inside the slideshow are already getting effected by all the list rules that create the slideshow. Not impossible, just messy.

As an example, if you wrap the list in a div called html-slide, you would then need to add the following css to your custom.css file or Quick CSS:

.html-slide ul {
    display: block;
}
#top .html-slide ul li{
    display: block;
    visibility: visible !important;
    position: relative;
}
.html-slide {
    display: block;
}

For SEO this is not really the way to go. And when making changes to the content it's very time consuming.

Hi hotspot,

You can use iframe content as a slide but it would be loading in another html page into the slideshow area and not adding it directly to there.

If you wanted it to appear like a caption, the most basic and probably best route is to create your image with the text list and use only an image instead of trying to add basic html.

Hi thomasmenard,

The [gallery] shortcode is actually part of the Wordpress core so it is theme independent. You can read more about its usage here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/#insert-an-image-you-have-already-uploaded

Once an image is "added" to the page, the file becomes attached to the post and will appear within the gallery shortcode even after it has been deleted from view in the visual editor.

As for the other issue, the theme and the gallery shortcode are unable to communicate and act independently of one another. So if you have images attached to the pages gallery you will need to add them again in the themes "Featured media" area using the green buttons.

Regards,

Devin

Edit - If I am incorrect in my assumptions, follow Nick's directions and make a screenshot to help illustrate the issue :)

Hello, Im using Propulsion theme which is really good :)

I would like to create a portfolio.
On every portfolio item, I set a slideshow with only one picture, some contents and a gallery at the end by copying this code [gallery link="file" columns="7"].

Then I have 2 questions:

Everytime I create a new gallery for portfolio item, it seems that I cannot get the pic from the media library but I need to download from my computer, even if I already have downloaded the pic in the media library before. Is there an easy way to do it?

Then I would like to click on the slideshow picture I set up, and then make it able to slide to the picture I have in the gallery on this same page.
What is strange, is that I could manage to do it when creating a proper gallery page, I have added only one pic on the slideshow, but I can slide to the pics in the gallery on this same page.
Is there a way to have it possible on portfolio item templates?

Thank you for your answers
Ps: Im very new at doing website, my questions may seem awkward:)

I'm glad its working for you now. The Home link is very simple to fix! Just go to Appearance>Menus in your wordpress admin and then you can change the link by expanding the Home button and putting in the url you want into that field.

Regards,

I've pretty much started from scratch now. I've uploaded the latest version of the theme. I uploaded dummy pages because even after uploading the latest theme, it didn't fix the problem. I'm now going through all the pages and making sure they are okay. The slideshow is now showing up on the http://www.cutecreations.co.uk/wp and http://www.cutecreations.co.uk/wp/home

I still can't get rid of the /home though. Ideally what I would like is when you click on the 'home' button in the navigation it directs to http://www.cutecreations.co.uk/wp

Hi Devin

I have done so but it's not working still. The problem I think is that I just can't create a page that has no added permalink on it. I can't remove the /home.

Kind regards

Hey Kate,

I'll need you to re-update your theme files and then create a completely new frontpage template with a slideshow and then apply that template to the home page.

Regards,

I found this post and it seems to relate very closely to the problems I am having. I cannot remove the /home permalink also.

Hmmm I decided against choosing static page as my frontpage display settings as I am aware this may cause problems in the future.

Devin suggested making a test frontpage template just with the slider on but that still hasn't worked.

Really need a solution asap as this needs to go live as soon as.

Kind regards

Can the /home not just replace the http://www.cutecreations.co.uk/wp?

I'd rather not have the /home address at all.
