Hey Tom,

Not that I know of no. You would need a custom function or plugin to modify WooCommerce to do something like that.

Hi,

is there a way not to show the Sorting By and Display depending on the numbers of products within a category?
I don't like them to show up when there are only 6-9 Products in a category.

Thank you

Hi codaqueen,

While it is *possible*, it isn't somethign we could help you do. It would mean each click of the category would do a full query which would have a pretty significant negative impact on site performance. It has been asked for quite a few times but so far Kriesi has not found a way to do it without the negatives far outweighing the positive impact of it.

Hi!

I have a question about using pagination, and the sorting function.

If I don't use pagination and display all of my portfolios on the homepage, then all of the the categories above the portfolios are displayed.

If I do use pagination, and display say 10 portfolios on my homepage, only the categories of the 10 displayed portfolios are shown, then if I jump to page 2, then the categories change to reflect the portfolios on that page.

This is probably by design, but is there a way to display all of the categories at the top with their full sorting function when using pagination?

Then if I clicked on a category, it would display the first 10 portfolios in that category. Then if I clicked on page 2 it would show the next 10 portfolios in that category.

Thinking about is, I don't know if it's fully possible (for instance if you were on page 2 of a category, and then switched to another category it would require a new page load to go to page 1 of your newly selected category)

Phew...I hope that all makes some sort of sense :)

Thanks in advance!

Hey SixStar281,

I'm fairly sure this is an issue that needs to be fixed within WooCommerce. I know the code snippet I posted came from the lead developer for the plugin for the very same question. When Kriesi is able to take a look maybe he will have a better solution. I'll take a look through the reported bugs as well to see if this has been posted to them yet.

You can use the theme with Cyrillic characters and just the filter doesn't work. You can suggest a bug fix here: https://github.com/desandro/isotope/issues

Yes, I searched with google "jquery isotope cyrillic" and it seems like this script doesn't support Cyrillic fonts. We use it: http://isotope.metafizzy.co/ for our portfolio filter. You can try to download a demo file from http://isotope.metafizzy.co/demos/basic.html and test if it works with Cyrillic characters but chances are good that it won't work.

(using WPML). is it a russian letter coding problem or something?

these are the categories:

Все/Архитектура/Берег/Исторические взгляды/Музей/Природное наследие

Should the portfolio details be opened on the same page when someone clicks a portfolio item?
No, open entries on a single page

Portfolio Columns

1) It seems like you're using a dynamic template on the home/front page. In this case you need to configure the portfolio options on the Template builder option page. Go to Angular > Template Builder and select your front page template. Then click on the portfolio element and change the number of items.

2) Add following code to the very bottom of functions.php to change the portfolio order:

function loop_portfolio_query( $location )
{
	if ( $location == 'loop-portfolio' )
	{
		global $avia_config;
		if(isset($avia_config['new_query']))
		{
			$avia_config['new_query']['orderby'] = "title";
			$avia_config['new_query']['order'] = "ASC";
			query_posts($avia_config['new_query']);

	}
}
add_action( 'avia_action_query_check' , 'loop_portfolio_query', 10, 1 );

I am using the portfolio page as the homepage - it is not displaying more than 12 items. I have gone into Angular > Theme Options > Portfolio and marked that 20 items should be displayed per page, but it doesn't change anything.

Also - while it is sorting by category, I want the order of the portfolio items displayed to be in alphabetical order. I am unsure how I can change the order - right now it looks like it's just displaying whichever ones I added last - first.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

In Dude's code above, please try replacing

else
{
  $meta_key = '';
}

with

else
{
  $orderBy = 'meta_value_num';
  $meta_key = '_price';
}

and also try changing in the same block above

'orderby' => $orderBY,

to

'orderby' => $orderBy,

Thanks,

It seems like you're using the template builder on the front page. In this case try to change the default sorting (WooCommerce > Settings > Catalog) and if this doesn't solve the problem open up wp-content\themes\replete\includes\helper-template-dynamic.php and replace:

if(!isset($shop_slider)) $shop_slider = "no";
		$page_nr = $shop_slider != "yes" ? get_query_var( 'paged' ) : 1;

with:

if(!isset($shop_slider)) $shop_slider = "no";
	$page_nr = $shop_slider != "yes" ? get_query_var( 'paged' ) : 1;

       if($orderBY == 'price'){
            $orderBy = 'meta_value_num';
            $meta_key = '_price';
        }
        else
        {
            $meta_key = '';
        }

		$avia_config['new_query'] = array(
			'post_type'	=> 'product',
			'post_status' => 'publish',
			'ignore_sticky_posts'	=> 1,
			"paged" => $page_nr,
			'posts_per_page' => $shop_item_count,
			'orderby' => $orderBY,
			'order' => $order,
            'meta_key' => $meta_key,
			'meta_query' => array(
				array(
					'key' => '_visibility',
					'value' => array('catalog', 'visible'),
					'compare' => 'IN'
				)
			)
		);

I'd also try to deactivate all third party plugins except woocommerce - maybe one causes the issue.

Hi SixStar281,

Try to add the following to the bottom of your functions.php:

/**
* This code should be added to functions.php of your theme
**/
add_filter('woocommerce_default_catalog_orderby', 'my_custom_default_catalog_orderby');

function my_custom_default_catalog_orderby() {
     return 'price'; // Can also use title and date
}

Regards,
