Hi there,

So I added Bebas Neue and got that working so I could change h6 to Bebas but as im only using it for 'BIG' slab text in a few pages I didnt want exclusivity to h6 especially as the theme uses. It was suggested I set up a class but thats where Ive come unstuck and where ive struggled to find tutorials I can understand.

What are the 'steps' to creating a class and then calling it up in a basic text block within the Avia Layout Builder?

Id like to use the words CREATIVE & DIVERSE, where its all 80px size but where 'CREATIVE' and '"DIVERSE are grey but the letter '&' is in orange. However, the text actually has no spaces between the words so it reads... CREATIVE&DIVERSE. The tricky bit is then making sure that when its is reduced on a mobile device (responsive) that it either shrinks properly or wraps on multiple lines (centred).

I get confused between spans, classes & divs so if someone can help me get started then id be grateful.

P.s. I tried to use WP SLAB TEXT plugin but because it uses the structure of calling up a class and Im not writing it correctly I got stuck on that too. It also uses 'pipes' to split the text so advice all round please

Cheers
Andy

Hi,

Actually add this to end of your functions.php file

add_filter('widget_title', 'my_change_title');

function my_change_title($title='') {
$ttitle = "<div style=\"padding-bottom:10px\" class=\"av-special-heading avia-builder-el-1 el_after_av_portfolio avia-builder-el-last \">";
$ttitle .= "<span class=\"widget-title\">$title</span>";
$ttitle .= "<div class=\"special-heading-border\">";
$ttitle .= "<div class=\"special-heading-inner-border\">";

Hi,

That is an advanced layout editor component called Special Heading using the default style. http://www.clipular.com/c?6080052=hDO5fTzvwTw1FQ2vFXkx_-7KFKI&f=.png

This is how it looks when you view source.

<div style="padding-bottom:10px" class="av-special-heading avia-builder-el-1 el_after_av_portfolio avia-builder-el-last ">
	<h1>Hello</h1>
	<div class="special-heading-border">
 <div class="special-heading-inner-border">
 </div>
	</div>
</div>

So copy that block, open up footer.php and put it where you want. Just change the Hello part to whatever you need it to say.

Thanks,

Thanks for getting back to me but what im after is a replica of what you use for a shortcode where the line extends to the right of the headline text.

On the enfold demo site theres an example pages drop down and one of these is called ABOUT US. If you look, theres a heading called WELCOME AT OUR AGENCY and the type of line im referring to is there (next to it, flowing across to width of the column)

How can I do this in the FOOTER WIDGET headings?

Hi,

Please try this

.widgettitle {
border-bottom: 1px dotted white;
padding-bottom: 10px;

It will create a dotted line below the widget title. For more border styles, please refer to this link

Thanks.

The first bit is great although I think you may have not quite understood my question about the footer. I dont want a line to span across all three widgets as I realise that would require alot of work. What im after is to add a bit of decoration by applying a middle horizontal line after a widget title that 'only' spans the width of the individual widget. Therefore the end result would be WIDGET 1 TITLE followed by a decorative line....[Column GAP]....WIDGET 2 TITLE followed by a decorative line....[Column GAP]....WIDGET 3 TITLE followed by a decorative line.

I want it to behave the same as the shortcodes you supply but obviously I appreciate this would be CSS code instead.

Can you help?

Cheers

Hi Andy

Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

#top .grid-entry .inner-entry {
background: #333;
box-shadow: 0px 1px 2px 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.2); /*border on portfolio items*/
}

and

#top .grid-entry-title {
background-color: #333; /*bg of title for portfolio item*/
color: #fff; /*color of title text*/
}

The footer issue is most likely not possible without quite a bit of tweaking. Since each footer section doesn't actually touch the one next to it, you would need to re-do that grid section to allow a line to extend past the edge of the actual widget.

Regards,

Hi there,

PORTFOLIO
Ive been trying everything but I cant seem to adjust the grid text font colors and the box background colours. Its inheriting the parameters from the Enfold Styling but I need to change it as its on a different background.

As a test could it be totally be removed (thus leaving only a grid of images) and the descriptor text placed on a rollover in grid box itself (over the corresponding image)?

In the Portfolio itself, where is the grid box rollover 'curved arrow' kept and can I change this for my own graphic?

FOOTER
Id like to put a decorative line (as used on the other codes for things like a portfolio grid etc) next to each Footer Widget. I have x3 widgets in the footer and each has a title. Id like a single line to extend to the right to fill the space to the right for the entire column width

Cheers
Andy

Hi nokostudio,

Instead of removing the span. Try adding this code in your Quick CSS (located in Eunoia > Theme Options > Styling) or custom.css(can be accessed via ftp, located in wp-content/themes/eunoia/css):

.main_color .widget_first {
color: #222222;
}

or, this code if the code above doesn't work:

.main_color .widget_first {
color: #222222 !important;
}

You can change the color value. Hope this helps.

Hi Boris,

Now that you have the two columns all set up, we can define their width individually.

#footer .column.column2 {
width: 280px;
}
#footer .column.column1 {
width: 640px;
}

Add that to your style.css at the very bottom and you can get rid of the previous column width css from before.

Hi Nick,

thanks. I did all that (again just a second ago), except contacting the widget-support.
I can change the size of the map in the widget manually, but with no effect on the footer-behavior, even if the map is the only widget.
When combining it with a right footer widget (and leaving the center footer empty) the right footer moves to the middle as if it was a center footer.
*strange*
So do you think it makes sense to contact the widget support?
To me it looks like a Newscast-Issue.

Thanks, again.

Boris

Hi Boris,

1. You should go to Theme Settings, and make sure that 'Display Widget Dummy Sidebars' is set to False/No (please look in the instructions which came with the theme,)

2. Then you should go into the Widget page (Appearance > Widgets) in the backend of the theme, and remove the widgets you don't want from the footer widget areas, leaving only the map widget , or map + 1 more if your wish.

3. You should also look in the settings for the Google Maps plugin, to change the size of the display since it seems to be hard set right now at 300x300 pixels.

If you cant find the controls for the map widget ( i never used that one thus I am guessing ) its best to contact support for the widget ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mappress-google-maps-for-wordpress/ ) to get the proper directions as to a way to correctly re-size it.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Support,

I am using a googlemaps mashup widget and I need more space (width) in my footer so I can display a bigger map.

Have a look: http://www.kletterbericht.de/

I would like to get rid of the center footer and span the left footer to the right.
Or even to the full width, up to the right footer, too.

How do I do it?

Best Boris
