Hey!

Maybe a widget plugin like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-post-type-list-widget/ will help you? It generates a list of your portfolio entries. You can also try to use the "latest portfolio entries" widget instead.

Best regards,

Ah, thanks a lot! 1

I don't know what widget to use this conditional on though. There is no existing widget that makes a menu-style list of pages / posts that can be filtered to just portfolio. It would be best to use a "post" or "page" widget and then filter for 'portfolio' since it's not needed to make a custom menu then. Any ideas?

1) You can filter portfolio items with following conditional:

get_post_type() = 'portfolio'

2) Afaik there's no direct way to add portfolio items to the menu (WP doesn't support posts and/or custom posts as menu items). However you can use the Link field to "hardcode" the portfolio items into your menu.

Hi,

I try to create a portfolio with a sidebar with the other portfolio items. To do this I am using the widget logic plugin but there is two things that I can't figure out:

a) how do I filter the portfolio items in widget logic?
b) how can I place portfolio items in a custom menu?

You can see my progress here: http://tincan.nl/site/?portfolio=farmcamps

The widget will be displayed when the user views the "Cars" product category. Obviously you can use any other category :)

Hi,
I am using Abunadnce theme and Widget Logic plugin to get a widget to appear only in several pages. But the problem is that I want a widget to appear on a WooCommerce product category page and in all the products of this category, and there are no default Wordpress conditional tags for this. The conditional tags for WooCommerce are http://www.woothemes.com/woocommerce-codex/extending-woocommerce/woocommerce-conditionals/ but I don´t know how to use them properly. Could anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

hope you can help us out. Case:
- homepage (showing the page "Homepage", is not / does not contain a sub-page) shows the blog with sidebar
- page "Nieuws" (dutch), sub-page of "vereniging" (slug) and set as the page containing the blog at the theme settings, shows the same blog with the same sidebar

I've installed Widget Logic as your forum states that it's fully supported.

I've got four widgets in the blog sidebar:
- category: widget logic condition is set to "is_page('Nieuws')"
- archive: widget logic condition is set to "is_page('Nieuws')"
- latest comments: widget logic condition is set to "is_front_page()"
- twitter: widget logic condition is set to "is_front_page()"

There is no caching meganism/engine installed.

Needed behaviour:
Now, i want different widgets for the blog overview on the homepage (Latest comments and Twitter) as for the "Nieuws" -page (Category and Archive).

Actual behaviour:
For the hompeage and the page "Nieuws" the Latest comments and Twitter widgets shows up. the Category and Archive widget doesn't show up at the "Nieuws" -page.

Any idea how to fix this, the sidebar seems not to react on any settings used with Widget Logic?

Yes, the cache is cleared, I seem to be forgetting something that is related to the category-, Widget Logic- or widget settings. When I write new posts they don't show up in the link list either. Even though the widget link list "Johannas blogginlägg" is in the "Display everywhere" meny with the Widget logic setting for my category number. The new post is in the same category ("Johannas blogginlägg") but doesn't show.

Can I mail you my password? Or can you find any clues from "outside"?

Several weeks ago I erased a post at http://www.barnsrattigheter.com called "21/7 - 11 Bilder på barn i Gaza".
Still, the post is visible as a choice in the link list on the right side menu on the category page for my blog posts (with the adress http://www.barnsrattigheter.com/johanna-westers-blogg/). I am using Widget logic in order to have that link list only there.
When I click on it I get a ERROR 404-message, which is correct since it shouldn't exist. But why is it still in the list of links?
I have emptied the trash bin.

I ended up fixing this by pasting the code from page.php into single.php. They are now the same. This limits me from using the single post style, but I wanted the portfolio posts to have sidebars. I suppose it works.

Hey,
as far as I can see the div structure is different - that's why the widget doesn't display right. The structure on other pages is:

main
- content
- sidebar
end main

on the site you linked to itr looks like:

main
-content
end main

-sidebar

I think it's related to a template/post content coding problem because I get several errors with w3c validator: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fhif.joelberthet.com%2F2011%2F02%2Fno-excuse%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0 (including div structure error)
