Yes. it will still display. I'd use left top as position or as you suggested try to remove it.

So if I edited bg.png in PS to be 1200x300 instead of 300x1200, would it still display properly behind the slider?

If I wanted "no-repeat", would I take "left bottom" out of the code?

Thanks!

To change the dimensions of the image you need to edit it in photoshop, etc. Css can't rotate an image.

Currently the bg.png is used in style1/2/3.css with following code:

html{
background: transparent url('../images/skin1/bg.png') repeat left bottom ;
}

You can change repeat to repeat-x, repeat-y and no-repeat.

Instead of going that path, I think I'd rather alter bg.png to just have my custom background behind the slider and in the footer. I see that bg.png is 300x1200. Is it possible to change the behavior of how it is inserted behind the slider? Right now, it looks like it just takes bottom portion of the 1200 pixels (maybe the last 500 or so), and then just repeats (tiles) it behind the slider. Would it be possible to rotate the image to 1200x300 so that I can have the image display more normally behind the slider? Would any code changes be needed to achieve this?

Sorry I missed this :( - CleanCut doesn't have the custom background feature. If you want to activate it please have a look at this page: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-enable-custom-background-in-wordpress-3-0-themes/

Ok. I thought so.

Are you sure CleanCut has this option? Under Appearance, all I have is "Themes", "Widgets", "Menus", and "Editor".

Thanks.

No Firebug is a plugin for Firefox which allows you to investigate your website (css styling, etc). It's a bit of work to customize the website in the way you want so it will help you. The background manager can be found under appearance > Background - it allows you to choosea background image and/or color.

Sorry for the ignorance, but where is my "background manager"? Is that also a part of Firebug?

You can do this by choosing the right background image for your site in your background manager. Afterwards you need to remove various backgrounds images from your theme's css - I'd download a plugin like firebug (for firefox) for this job. You can't set different backgrounds for different pages though.

I am thinking of making the entire background of the site an image. Is this possible? If so, how would I accomplish this? Also, would it be possible to just have this image as the background of the mainpage, or would it have to apply to the entire site?

I know I can edit bg.png to change what is behind the slider, but I think I may want it to apply to the whole page.

Thanks in advance!
