I see that bg.png is 300x1200. Is it possible to change the behavior of how it is inserted behind the slider? Right now, it looks like it just takes bottom portion of the 1200 pixels (maybe the last 500 or so), and then just repeats (tiles) it behind the slider. Would it be possible to rotate the image to 1200x300 so that I can have the image display more normally behind the slider? It's a bit of work to customize the website in the way you want so it will help you. Afterwards you need to remove various backgrounds images from your theme's css - I'd download a plugin like firebug (for firefox) for this job.
