Hi!

I will look into the issue but cant promise a fast solution since I only own an iPad and degbugging on that thing is not exactly easy...

Regards,

Hi jaakob,

If the image has a blur at all, in any browser, it would still be helpful to see exactly what you are seeing with a screenshot or screencast. Otherwise, we can only attempt to reproduce the issue. When I just tested the site in Safari on a Macbook Pro, I did not get any blurring or degradation in the image compared to the source of the image.

Regards,

Well unless You are not watching this on some high res display (iPad 3 or MBP Retina) You won't see the degradation, the screenshot will not help. Try this in store for example.
However - as I wrote a week ago: the degradation is visible in Safari, not in Chrome. In portfolio section - the fonts (and again slideshow) are not rendered properly. I mentioned this precise bug in different topic (http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/pixelated) and was assured that its only font problem - theme works fine - which is simply not true. I really need to know if You will address this issue and I can continue use this theme in the future or not.

Hi jaakob,

I don't see the blur/degredation on my end but if you can take some screenshots for when Kriesi takes a look, that should help.

Regards,

Hi,

the issue is present even without retina plugin - in latest Safari, not in Chrome Canary as I wrote before...

Hi!

I marked this thread for Kriesi. Afaik Kriesi uses the WP API to fetch the image - thus the Rertina plugin should work if you use the server side image serving feature.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi,

I try to make Choices slideshow usable for high res displays. For that I use WP Retina 2x plugin.

The image first loads well (high res), than after a second (max) falls back to low res version. When I right click the image and open in new window, the right version of image (high res) appears. It is visible on the iPhone 4 as well, not just new MBP.

This issue is NOT present in Chrome Canary, so it is not related to plugin I use for serving high res versions of images or custom CSS (tried to remove all just to be sure). This should be some theme script problem involving Safari.

The web is: http://fotografie-realizaci.cz
However, this bug can be seen as well on the demo site of Choices (and when open the demo slide in new window the image is visibly sharper than in slideshow - although its not high res I assume).
