basically you can put the code anywhere you want. You can duplicate the widget file (framework\php\class-framework-widgets.php) and include it by using function.php. That said I don't think it's easily possible to transfer the widgets because they use several framework specific functions which are not available in Display. Some of these functions require more framework functions and you need (imho) php and debugging skills to transfer everything.
