The css above shouldn't touch the bottom captions at all since they have their own width defined that overwrites the main slideshow_caption class. </p> <p>Just to be sure there isn't any additional complication from outside plugins, try disabling all active plugins you have running and put the CSS back into your Quick CSS and give everything a try.
