For Corona, the main header background is done with an image depending on your skin. If you wanted to change that, you can change out that image. The shadow box looks ok for me. I'm not sure if SimpleCSS messes around so I'd try to change the file offline. Use cpanel or a software like filezilla to download style1.css (located in the folder css).Download it, modify it and upload it again.
