You should google for "firebug tutorial". It is an extension for firefox that will let you analyze a website and let you make changes to CSS on a visual but temporary basis (if you reload, you have the life site again).
it also shows which css code you have to copy in your quick css to apply that change for the life site as well.

Definitely look into this. it is not that hard to learn but will help you with adjusting CSS.

Thanks Devin, that's really helped.

Where would you advise I swot up on CSS so that I can find out how to do this alone?

Steven

Hi Steven,

The background is handled with two blocks of color and a background image. For the Minimal-Skin, the css is:

#wrap_all, #main {
background: #fff;
}

#header {
border-bottom: 1px solid #eee;
background-image: url(../images/skin-minimal/bg-header.png);
background-repeat: repeat-x;
background-color: #f8f8f8;
}

The first background color of #fff is the main white background while the second combination in #header is the slight gradient and white at the top. If you add them to your Quick CSS or custom.css file and change the values it will change the colors for you.

The Quick CSS is located at the bottom of the Styling tab inside the Corona theme options.

Regards,

Devin

Hi there,

I'm fairly inexperienced to wordpress, but have got as far as installing and setting up the Corona theme on my host. I'm having trouble making any significant customisations such as background colour etc. I have read a number of threads suggesting the Quick CSS, which doesn't actually make any effect, and I can't quite work out how to edit this and where information would go. Is there a quick guide or tutorial as to how this works, and if anyone could quickly help me change the background colour, that would really help get me started!

Thanks all!

Steven
