That's exactly what I am trying to do. I tried removing the link from the media library when I add an image to gallery, I also have tried to go back and delete them. Either way, the url comes back as soon as I save it. So editing the template might be my only route, and I could not find which template/code to edit yet. If that doesn't work you may have to edit a template file.
