Thanks Ismael. I spent an entire day reconstructing all the page templates, sidebar settings, and other Avia config details to restore the site. That was a painful migration for sure, but at least we're now back in business. I'm a huge fan of this theme so I hope Kreisi is able to resolve this for future customers.

Hi,

@michael: I'm sorry to hear that but in your case I think you need to do the site all over again because you lost the original site. Try to contact your host, see if you have a backup.

You can only do Kriesi's instructions above if you have the original site.

Regards,
Ismael

Hi Kriesi,

Wow, this is really messed up. I just migrated my Propulsion-themed site from a subdirectory to a parent directory on the same server and I'm experiencing the same issues with the Avia settings reported by others. Our site has a very large number of customizations to the theme including numerous sidebars with custom widget areas. I have started to try to recreate all the settings but even that is not working properly. Unfortunately, the original site is no longer accessible because I had to change the URIs and can now no longer login to change them back. Any advice on how I should proceed? Thanks.

Mike

Hey!

You can use the undocumented export function for now that I use to create the settings for my dummy importer:
When in your admin backend (any page) simply append the this to the url ?avia_export, like: http://flyingstartonline.co.uk/fs/wp-admin/?avia_export

this generates a base64 encoded option set that you can simply copy and then save to the dummy.php file in includes/admin/dummy.php of your theme. then you either need to delete the dummy.xml file or create a wordpress XML export file rename it and replace it as well.

Not you have backed up your installation so that you could create a clone, simply by pressing the "import dummy data" button in your themes backend....

Whilst your here on the topic of Theme Settings, how much work would it be for you to add an import / export Theme settings option to Avia. It would be great to be able to export / backup all templates and overall settings.

Hope this can be done as I've put so much work into tweaking my site, would hate for one day to find it's gone.

Cheers Kriesi :)

Hey Guys! Even after this long I was neither able to reproduce the error nor find why this happens for some of you. It probably has something to do with different server configurations but I cant really test this.

So if any of you still hast the problem and wants it resolved please grant me access to your installations ftp server and database so I can take a look.

Hi legogr,

Unfortunately we have no update on the issue either. So far the only work around is to reset your sites theme settings on the new server.

Regards,

Hello,

I have the same problem. I moved the site from local server to production server and works fine excepts the avia_options. I'll checked and the options in the avia_options_flashlight (my theme in this case) are correct. But the site in the production server is not loading this settings.

Regards,

Looks like a bug in the Avia framework not just the theme.
Is Kriesi making any progress with resolving the issue?

We are not talking about just few setting here and there but quite a bit of content in multiple templates etc.
Not acceptable.

Hi!

Some other users reported this issue too and Kriesi will fix it when he finds the problem. For now you need to reconfigure the theme settings on the production server.

Best regards,

I just checked both databases and all the theme settings are there. For some reason the theme is not reading them and is acting as if this was anew install.

I tried to switch to default WP theme and back to Angular, but the Angular does not read the theme settings from the DB.

Any suggestions what else to try? Is there some way to trigger the theme to read the settings in the DB?

Can someone please tell me where are the Avia options/settings saved to? Which file(s) and/or DB tables?

I am able to successfully migrate a site from dev to test environment by copying files and DB, changing directory references in DB & wp-config and everything is working fine except the theme setting get reset to default.

I move WP sites with other frameworks all the time without any issues. What extra steps are required when moving a WP site that uses the Avia framework?
