Hi,

I no longer freeze with IE-10, but i do get an error on this page http://www.kriesi.at/themes/replete/product/dont-make-me-go-zelda-on-you/ though it doesn't freeze me or have any effect i can see besides showing up in the ie10 console. (i am using wi7).

These pages work as well.
http://www.kriesi.at/themes/replete/product/grouped/
http://goo.gl/Yohzl

Error:

SCRIPT7002: XMLHttpRequest: Network Error 0x2ef3, Could not complete the operation due to error 00002ef3.

I am pretty sure that adding a header to the request will take care of the issue based on searching for the error either in this format in php:

header( 'Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf-8' );

or this format in jquery

contentType:"application/json; charset=utf-8",

but the error is not always there and there are quite a few places to try this. I think Peter or Kriesi better take a second look to see if even this approach is the right direction.

Hey!

Since I count figure out the problem by now I will wait once the new woocommerce 2.0 is released (lots of changes upcoming) and then if the problem persists do some more testing...

Best regards,

Here is a jfiddle http://jsfiddle.net/4S2wC/ of concatenated jason strings that IE10 may like.... will install ie10 on win7 now... dont want to lose ie9.

(edit) : It is strange that the mighty ie10, created by the best minds of microsoft can be crashed by css. If its just one line, that might be newsworthy. lol.

Thanks,

Hi!

got something interesting too: if you remove the the base.css and layout.css files (those that hold styling information for the select element)
the dropdown suddenly works without crashing -_-

Regards,

I am sorry, my bad, The first code was from a different experiment....

Above is the code directly from the page and error generated by http://jsonlint.com/ .. with a second validator concurring http://paulisageek.com/json_validator/

Found something in Microsoft IE10 msdn ... about how it parses json though not sure how relevant it is... http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ie/cc836466(v=vs.94).aspx

Hi,

One validator is finding a problem in the JSON block that is embedded in the page with variation data that populates those select boxes:
(i added the arrow in the code)

{

Hi,

The following Tuesday there will be the first critical update of IE10 released along with multiple critical updates for win8 and 7. http://www.zdnet.com/microsoft-to-release-critical-windows-8-ie10-patches-7000008489/

Maybe you can ask your client to wait a few days? Maybe Bill Gates was thinking of us. :)

Hi,

Not sure if this known IE10 ajax posting bug recently uncovered has anything to do with select box problem. The select boxes have ajax right before them on the page in the demo.

Bug test here http://jsfiddle.net/RebaT/5/show/ and here http://jsfiddle.net/L6bJ2/6/ . Bug discussion ref: http://bugs.jquery.com/ticket/12790#comment:22 and http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11235613/jquery-ajax-post-not-working-ie10. It seems this partially affects earlier installs of win8 and not the later installs.

I am installing win8 now on another partition to take a look.

I can reproduce the issue on a native IE10 setup (Win8 x64 Pro).

Regards,

Hi,

Is your client using a preview version of IE10 that was released last month for Windows 7 or the version for Windows 8?
Thanks,

Nick

I could reproduce the issue however IE10 didn't drop any error messages. Maybe it's a css issue but I'm not sure because the dropdown just freezes instantly. I'll inform Kriesi and ask him to look into it asap.

Hi umlungux,

I don't use IE10 on my end. Let me tag the rest of the support to check the issue.

Regards,

If you have a look at this page http://www.kriesi.at/themes/replete/product/dont-make-me-go-zelda-on-you/ using IE 10 the dropdowns hang the page. Haven't checked for earlier versions of IE

Update# It seems to work in IE8. I also see that the theme was sold as only supporting IE 8 and 9 as well. AS luck would have it, my client uses IE10. Is there any way you can assist?
