Yes - the problem was discussed here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/menu-items-and-front-page-slider-empty-after-update - basically the problem occurs when you switch from the old Display version to the new 2.x version. You need to delete the "display" option field in your sql database and everything should work again.

Thanks for that info - I will try that.

Do you have any ideas on why the Slide Manager isn't working for me?

Hey,
you need to modify config.xml manually if you'd like to add links. Open up slideshow/config.xml and use following code for a slide + link/description (some more sample entries can be found in config.xml):

<slide>

<heading>Put your heading here!</heading>
<paragraph>
Paragraph text - put your text here and describe your beautiful slide. Paragraph text - put your text here and describe your beautiful slide. Paragraph text - put your text here and describe your beautiful slide.
</paragraph>

</slide>

or for slides with links only:

<slide>

</slide>

I'm getting this error:

The database tables that are necessary to make "Mainpage Slider" work could not be installed

Possible Solutions:
Please deactivate all your plugins and refresh this page
Make sure that you are using a wordpress account with all privileges.

Can you suggest a workaround. I've tried deactivating all plugins. Do I need to be installing any plugins to make this work?

I've tried reverting to the Flash slider which isn't ideal because I can't work out how to add a hyperlink to the each of the slides - what is the code to make this work and have the link open in the same window?

Thanks,
Andrew
