You need to add a background rule to the div (id) "main" in style.css like:

#main{
position: relative;
z-index: 1;
width:1000px;
float: left;
padding-top:30px;
background: #fff;
}

Alright, I'll try again..

How do I have the page itself separate from the background - so that text/content isn't just floating in transparency.

Obviously this will require background changes in a number of areas - but I would like to know where and what to replace it with.

I want a similar looking format to this: http://canucks.nhl.com/

Thanks

what do you mean by "format in unison" I don t understand.

Do you mean having a background image for the whole header and center it?
Also you do you mean fixing the little css issues around the navigation?

Have you tried replacing the modified version you made with the original one? I recommend commenting out css stylesheets so that the original code is still there so you can revert. Can you provide more details as to what you want

http://www.obsessedisnothing.com/

1. Basically I would like to have the entire page format in unison. The footer is fine, just need help adjusting the header code in 'style 1'. I need a fixed width for the bg and part of the main nav menu head still sticks out.

2. Is it possible to increase the set height of the newslist slider?

thanks

Do you mean automatically so that if you change you body width the footer and header change? Can t do dynamic css like that. As far as changing the header and footer widths you can do that in the .css files. Post a link to your site if that helps for us to look at and figure it out.

The current header image is applied to the body in style1.css you can replace it with your own here. you can also set a fixed width for body, and then center it by adding margin: 0 auto; and float:none;
