Hello,

Sure they do just go to Products > Product Categories > click a specific category then look at the URL. You will see something like this
action=edit&taxonomy=product_cat&tag_ID=19&post_type=product. The ID is 19.

Regards,

Okay, I spoke too soon. Here is another issue I am having. Relevanssi says the following in their manual:

"Exclude these categories and tags from search
Here you can permanently exclude categories and tags from search by listing their numeric IDs. The ‘cats’ input field also takes negative values for exclusion."

In order to exclude some of my categories they need to have a numeric ID. But Woocommerce does not assign numeric IDs to the categories. Any ideas of a work around for this issue?

Thanks!

Sandy

Actually, now it seems to be working. I don't know what I did differently, but I am just glad that it is working. Thanks!

I am having so much trouble with this. Relevanssi says it will work with default wordpress search also. Maybe I just need to go back to the default wordpress search widget and then try to use Relevanssi with it? Trouble is, I can't find the default wordpress search widget. Someone please point me in some direction of help on that one. I am ready for my shopping cart to go live and really don't want to do it with current state of seach on my website. Thanks!

Hey!

You can try Relevanssi: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/relevanssi/

Ismael -

Thank you for the suggestion of Search Everything. It really is a cool plugin and would be exactly what I need, except it is only said to work with the standard wordpress seach box. Do you think there is anything similar to this that would work with Woocommerce product search? I have been searching once I realized the other one would not work, but cannot find anything. Very frustrating. Any ideas?

Hi,

This is a bit complicated and may require some complex coding. Have you tried using plugin like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-everything/? I'm not really sure if this can help but it is worth a try.

Regards,

Hello -

I have a retail store with over 3,000 products. Not all of them are suitable for shipping. I am working on my shopping cart and am using Abundance theme and Woocommerce. I have Quickbooks POS system in my store and I am using an extension by 61 Designs to import everything from my POS system into the shopping cart. This has been working great except for one thing. When you use the "Search of Products" box on my website and type in for instance, Letter, everything with "Letter" in the title shows up, including some of the things I would like excluded from the website.

My only thought for a work around for this would be if there were some code I could use that would only allow products with images to be included in the search. That would exclude the items I do not wish to be included. Is there such a code I could use? Thanks for you help.

Sandy
