Hi,

I am terribly sorry , the fault is completely mine.

Now lets see, there are at least a few recent posts where this questions has been answered I believe.

http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/disable-sidebar-for-shop-page-keep-sidebar-for-product-categories#post-93148

There are 2 options with different instructions - one shows how to remove sidebars from all category pages, and keep them on main shop page and another shows how to remove them in both places i believe. I think choice # 2 is for your needs, and also further down the page Dude provides the css code you will need to go along with the php.

Thanks,

Nick

I can't get my head round this.

I've got the shop base page assigned and when I overwrite the default post layout to fullpage (no sidebar) it's still there.

But I can get it to move left or right when I change the blog layout.

I can also change the layout if I add a widget under the Shop Overview Page area.

Please help.

@zzalienzz I think Dude & Devin was replying to the first link you posted not the second.

I'm trying to do the same as I want no side bar on the category pages for now.

It looks like category pages takes the default layout for the blog as if you were to change the layout under the settings for the default blog blog layout it moves the side bar.
Unfortunately there is no option for 'No Sidebar'

Is this correct?

If so this is very annoying as I want a side bar for the blog but not for the category pages :(

I am trying to make the catalog page of products in woocommerce only show products across the pages, NO SIDEBAR...just the main content...the template builder does not work on woocommerce pages?!?

Hi zzalienzz,

The image attachment page which is what you linked uses the default "post" template provided by the theme. The theme does not come with a template for the images by itself so you will need to create one that is full width, name it "image.php" and put into the themes main folder on your server.

You can make a copy of the themes page.php file and remove the sidebar from it as an easy way to do this.

For the WooCommerce pages (different from your first link), you would need to modify the config file the theme provides for woo commerce but you'll need to be more specific in what you are trying to accomplish.

Regards,

Devin

This is the default image attachment page. Wordpress will use the post template if you don't provide a special template for images. However you can create a special template for images. Eg make a copy of page.php, modify the file (remove the sidebar, etc.) and call it image.php (important, don't change the name). Then place it into the theme directory where single.php, archive.php, etc. can be found. See also. http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-create-a-custom-single-attachments-template-in-wordpress/
