You don't lose them when overwriting the theme files.</p> <p>I don't know if the child theme is set up correctly or not, but it shouln't be doubling your menu. (capitalization is off in import line, or in theme name, or in parent folder (my original was correct format - see below, just capitalization...)). Also if you named your parent theme folder Corona then inside the child style.css , you need to have identical capitalization. One letter difference and it won't find it.
