Hi sulker,

You can find it inside: wp-content\themes\newscast\css\style1.css. You need to access it via ftp.

Regards,

Thanks! I was able to get the font and link colors I wanted. Now if only your colleague James could help me with getting my images to display right, I'll be ready to really start posting stuff on my website.

Hey,
colors are subjective - there are various shades of blue. Here's a nice hex value color table: http://www.w3schools.com/Html/html_colors.asp - one blue has the value "#0000ff" so yes that's right. Black has the value #000 or (the long version) #000000. It's the opposite of white with #fff or #ffffff - maybe you chose a dark grey in your color picker :)

You must use a ftp software like filezilla to upload the stylesheet (style1.css) to your themes folder. Go to newscast/css and make a backup of style1.css. Then upload the modified stylesheet :)

Thank you for the clear instructions. Glad you included how to change the color of the links too, I forgot to ask that! For the links, I actually want to make them black, then turn blue when a mouse hovers on them.

When I used a color picker, the hexcode for blue I got was #0000ff. Is that right? I noticed the hexcode you gave for black was different than what I got with the color picker.

I made the changes to the style1.css file on my computer.

How do I upload/update the style1.css onto WordPress? Do I do something within WordPress? Or do I FTP a file to the WordPress file on my web hosting account? Please tell me what steps to do next. Thanks.

Hey,
open up style1.css and search for:

body{
background: #fff url(../images/skin1/bg.png) repeat-x 0 0;
color:#666;
}

and change the color value to #000

If you want to change the color of the links too search for:

a{color:#888f96;}

and change the color to #000 :)

Hi, I'm using the "Newscast - Light" skin of your Newscast theme. For me, the light gray font color is hard to read on a white background. I want to use a darker color, so the contrast would make the text easier to read.

How can I change the default color to black? Hexcode #000000. I'd like this to be the default font color for posts on the homepage and on the individual posts. I looked in the "Newscast Options" and didn't see a setting for font color. If I missed it, could you please tell me where it is?

Here are links from my site to the homepage and a sample blog post:

http://linuxforartists.com/

http://linuxforartists.com/2011/02/07/how-to-turn-ubuntu-into-a-multimedia-studio/

I'd like for black to be the default font color, so I don't have to choose it every time I write a new post. Thanks for your help.
