In that case, you can do exact same thing in includes>comments.php. within the velvet theme. The only difference is the html echoed in velvet is slightly different (using grid instead of class names).

Generally, most of Kriesi's themes are set up and coded very similarly so if you have solution for one there is a good chance it will work without very much adjustment for another.

Regards,

unfortunately my site cannot go online for this moment. But Dude had a great solution for the CORONA theme here
http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/comments-are-closed-on-certain-posts-however-code-appears-to-leave-feedback

and I would like to know, what files I need to edit with which code, to achive the same result with VELVET.
Thanks.

Can you link to an example page, it would probably be easiest to do via css but I'll need to see if there is something we can grab hold of just on those pages.

Otherwise we'll look at a php solution.

Regards,

Thanks, but now I have on those pages, where the comments are closed this part of text:

Comments are closed.

How can I get rid of this only on pages, where comments are closed?

Thanks.

Hi colorit2,

You can add the same line to the template-fullwidth.php file so that it pulls in the comments form there too.

Regards,

I just found out, that the comment form, as I have added the code above to page.php, only works for pages with "default", but not as full width page (no dynamic template!).

There is no comment form on full width pages! How can I solve this? Thanks.

Hi,

I've openend comments for certain pages, but in the frontend, there is no comment form shown.
I used the tip from the CORONA forum here and replaced in my page.php of VELVET

this

<div class='template-page content'>
<?php
/* Run the loop to output the posts.
* If you want to overload this in a child theme then include a file
* called loop-page.php and that will be used instead.
*/
$avia_config['size'] = 'page';
get_template_part( 'includes/loop', 'page' );
?>

with this:

<div class='template-page content'>
<?php
/* Run the loop to output the posts.
* If you want to overload this in a child theme then include a file
* called loop-page.php and that will be used instead.
*/
$avia_config['size'] = 'page';
get_template_part( 'includes/loop', 'page' );
//wordpress function that loads the comments template "comments.php"
comments_template( '/includes/comments.php');
?>

Although the comments are set as allowed on certain pages, where I do not use a dynamic template on, no comment form is shown.

Is this part of code, that I have fetched from the CORONA forum wrong for the VELVET theme?

How can I have comments on certain pages (without dynamic templates used), too?
Thanks.
