Hi Boris,

Try this: Open up your header.php file from the template folder. Search for the ul class "social_bookmarks" (~line 116).

This is the output for the various social icons. Just past the RSS line add your own for the new mail icon like this:

echo '	<li class="mail"><a href="mailto:youremail@yourdomain.com">Mail Us</a></li>';

The CSS and image should already be there as its in my 1.0.1 file.

Regards,

Hi Devin,

we will publish our Blog next Tuesday! I am sorry to be a bit pushy now, but it would be a big help, if I could implement a solution until then, because of the initial traffic and visits, that would result in quite a lot of newsletter-subscribers, an so on.

Do you think, there is any chance to speed things up for me!?

I would appreciate that a lot! (And even donate!) ;-)

Best Boris

Hi Devin,

thats great! Any idea how long asap may be?
And what will happen, when you click the icon? Just a mailto? It would be great if linking to an internal page would be an option, too. Then I could design my newsletter landing page there.

Hi Tuomas,

The new theme actually has that functionality (add custom icons and links) and I already talked to Kriesi about adding it to the newer themes asap. Its definitely on the to-do list as its such an often requested feature :)

Regards,

Just to note that I'd appreciate an e-mail icon / button as well.

Furthermore, it would be great it there were an easier way to add custom social buttons and icons. I've replaced the dribble button myself with an academia.edu one. If anyone would like the icon I designed, let me know -- I'd be happy to share with Kriesi as well if he wants to add an academia.edu button. But I will probably want to add a couple more (such as Foursquare and Beeradvocate) and while it may be possible to do this manually, there could be an easier option.

Regards,
Tuomas

Hi Peter,

this would be just great! There are a lot of templates out there with an email option, and I think sentence would even sell better with it ;-)
What do you estimate will be the responsetime by Kriesi?

Best

Hi!

I'm not aware of a mail icon for sentence but I'll mark this thread for Kriesi. Maybe he can provide one or create/design a custom logo.

Regards,

Hi,

my readers would rather add themselves to a mailinglist, than use a RSS-Feed, so a newsletter-icon in the socialmedia-area would be a goof idea.

And this is what I am looking for.

How can I do this? Does the template provide a solution (or will do so in the future)?

Or is there a plugin for that?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
