I've tried adding them from the media library tab, double-checked alt info is in there but when I check the page source it shows ALT="" and only lists the title tag. I've tried: adding the image in the page editor, editing the image info I'd added in the page editor using the media library, and as stated above tried to directly add it in the media library and select it from the page editor. None of these work to get the alt tag displayed. Any advice? I didn't test every feature, layout, etc. but I see no reason why css code, etc. should break. I've just tested 'Add featured media' with WP 3.3 Beta 3 on a local Xampp install and I get all the image Titles and Alt tags as I should, without any problems, even when hovering a small image box after adding featured media I see Title I typed. After saving post as a Draft or Publishing it, I need to go to Media/Library, edit particular image, add Title and Alt again and 'Update Media'. Normal upload by MEDIA -> UPLOAD = every image goes in right month folder at FTP Editing/Creating a page and using the "featured media" uploader at the bottom = every so attached image goes to one and the same folder of that month, when installing CORONA = hundreds of images, that have been uploaded by "featured media"-settings of a page are in one folder at FTP, and that's really a mess. Unfortunately I am currently not able to test a https installation, my testserver doesnt seem to support that. Just to clarify: both the default wordpress uploader, as well as the featured image uploader dont work correctly? I performed a google search on the topic and it seems there is a problem with untrusted ssl certificates. Since you seem to prefer the normal behavior you can change that quite easy: open the folder framework/php/ and search for the file class-htmlhelper. at line 418 a post id is selected. you can change that selection by altering the following lines from <pre> $postId = avia_media::get_custom_post($element['name']); </pre> to <pre> global $post_ID; $postId = $post_ID; </pre> That will attach the image to the actual post. also if you dont want to change the code you dont have to be afraid that the images are gone if you switch theme. they would still be available. 2.) Unfortunately I am not able to reproduce this. I am able to save images and alt tags no matter which uploader I use and they also appear fine on the front end 3.) Since the "feature media" is nothing more than a slightly modified wordpress uploader that should basically work. Could you give me a description on what exactly doesn't work (and also if it works with the default wordpress uploader?) I can't even start with new website without this things fixed, and as far as I know, are part of the same 'Add Featured Media' problem. 1. Images attached to avia_logo and not correct post name in the media library (which is normal wordpress behaviour!) ... what if I change the theme in the future? reattaching hundreds of images to the posts? as images are attached to avia_logo it's hard to find the right image. 2. Image Title and Alt tags are not saved in database when adding featured media. I need to manually add them from media library 3. I can't add featured media over HTTPS, even with chmod 777. Let me say, that I've looked all over the forum and there is a lot of support questions regarding this problems, some are 2 months old. All I see is: 'your post must have slipped through... Code checks if there are whitespaces in image title, if not, it replace image title and alt tag from post title. For those images I did set up titles within Medai library manually. As this may lead to find a bug, I noticed, with above code implemented, image alt always gets value of the first non empty field, so if I do not set alt field and set up caption field in Media library , image alt get caption field, if caption is empty it gets description field value. Solution above is temporary, I hope you'll fix it asap. I can send you screen shot if needed. Am I the only one with this problem.
